Chapter 18 : "Engagement Ring"

You were in your room combing your hair as you were getting ready for your date today.
Yes, exactly for the date from which you'll ask Taehyung out for engagement. Or maybe not because there was more to it than you thought.

Although you could've just told him directly, you just felt like doing things the way they're supposed to be done between couples.
Taehyung was obviously very surprised when you suddenly asked him out on a date, but also agreed right away. He still did try to ask you what was the special occasion, but since he didn't want to trouble you too much, he just went along with it.

He was in his room getting ready for the date. It was actually a 2-day plan.
One day, decided by him, and the other decided by you.
Yours was about going to restuarants, buying clothes, movies, arcade and all, while his was the same as that one time you took your day off.

But well, things were different now. You wouldn't have to worry about hurting his feelings this time.
It had been a while since you two became a 'couple' and things were going well. Or a little too well, because you didn't expect it to go this smoothly. Taehyung didn't seem uncomfortable with anything, and both of you had gradually gotten together too.

But...

You sighed as you kept the comb down.
This was only your perspective, what actually goes in his mind was totally unknown to you. You couldn't really tell whether he actually liked any of this, or was this also just for the act, so that he won't hurt you.

Moreover, after you two get married, who knows if he secretly regrets everything. Or what if he's regretting it at the moment too?
You didn't want to make his life a hell, that's why you were still sticking to the divorce plan. Of course you wouldn't directly ask him for it, but you would observe whether there is anything in the marriage or not.

Or so was your 'plan'.

Well, not getting too ahead of things, you got back to the present as you were done getting ready now.
Today was his turn to be the in-charge for the day. Although you were thinking initially to propose him for the engagement, you still had other things you needed to know.

Like his ring size, for example.

You couldn't possibly bring just any ring for him, or it would seem like you didn't put much thought to it.
Taehyung is special, so he should feel that too.
You nodded to yourself, agreeing to your own thoughts.

After getting ready, you headed downstairs as Taehyung was already there packing stuff. He smiled as he looked at you approaching him.

Taehyung - "You look beautiful, Y/N."
Y/N - "Ooh la la, you too! How's everything? Need a hand?"
Taehyung - "I'm almost done, don't worry!"
Y/N - "Hmm the food smells good! I can't wait to have it."
Taehyung - "Haha you can have some taste if you want. And please be seated, I'll serve our breakfast in just a little bit."
Y/N - "Is the food in the kitchen?"
Taehyung - "Oh yes it is, I'll bring it just-"
Y/N - "I'll do it, I'll do it."

Taehyung was still doing his own work, but you didn't give him time to go against you as you hurried to the kitchen. Seeing him do all of the work would make you feel guilty, so you decided to do some work.
He wouldn't let you do any work at all when he was around. Although you were fine with it in the beginning, it started to bug you after a while. And after all, after marriage, the work should definitely be equally split.

You were bringing the food from the kitchen to the dining table. Taehyung completed his work faster to get to working with you.
You two served the food and had a good meal as he explained to you where he planned on taking you.
