POV Pete

I watch slowly as Khun Vegas saunters into the room in front of me. He walks slowly like he doesn't have a single thing on his mind to worry about. He runs his hands over the display of torture device that are set up on a long table beside him. He looks at me for a second and he smiles harshly. He grabs for a pair of thick white gloves that rest on the table.

"My plan is all ruined because of you." He states his voice sharp, yet so calm it sends a bolt of fear ruining down my spine, but I don't let him see it. Instead I do what I do better than anything, I smile. A broad curve coming onto my lips so big that my eyes nearly close as they crinkle. "So, how do you think," Vegas continues, reaching down for an instrument on the table and coming up with a heavy hand ax. " A guy like you should be punished?" He tests the edge of the ax with his glove.

My only response is to smile wider and start laughing. I was going to die, and Khun Vegas was going to make sure I felt every last drop of blood that left my body before I did. I had known this was how the mission was going to end. I had known the moment I stepped foot inside the minor family compound that my life was going to end here. It had simply been a vain hope that it would have been quick. An easy shot right to the brain and then nothing.

Khun Vegas sets the ax back onto the table and instead reaches down for two devices that it takes me a second to recognize. They were jumper cables.

"You're laughing?" Vegas asks me with a sneer. I hadn't realized I was even still doing it. So far retreated behind my mask it almost had a will of its own.

Vegas tilts his head in my direction regarding me with the sharp steel in his eyes. He takes one step towards me and then raises the jumper cables and rubs them together. At the sight of a shower of sparks that skitter off them I feel my mask waver. He does it again, taking one more step toward me.

I'm no longer smiling, I can't. I'm not scared of him, I'm angry and bracing against a pain I know is going to be the worst thing that I've ever felt. I wasn't going to scream. I tell myself and curl my fists in my bonds.

Khun Vegas gestures with a tilt of his head to his men. Two of them who stand on either side of the room. They come over and undress me the rest of the way. I'm now standing stark naked in front of Khun Vegas as he takes one final step toward me. He stares into my eyes like he wants to watch my fall apart. I don't let him.

I tilt my head toward him and we're so close I can feel his breath on me as I stare back at him. The daggers in our eyes wage war with each other. Then Khun Vegas pulls back slightly and jabs the jumper cable into the most sensitive part of my lower body.

I yell out grinding my teeth as they lock together, my entire body spasming as the sharp burning current runs through me contracting every joint and muscle with pain.

Then it's gone, the pain recedes and my body feels numb and limp. My vision fades in and out and my breath stutters out through my clenched jaw.

Khun Vegas looks at me expectantly. Leaning my head back against the pillar, I smile my best idiotic smile and laugh as well as my lungs will allow me. I don't say anything snide, or insulting, I don't have the breath to. Khun Vegas grins as he watches me. His eyes glinted in the blood and emerald shaded room. "Oh, You're still laughing?" He questions me, his breath heavy. Then he jabs at me again harder, and pain runs rampant through me in wave after wave as I yell loudly into an otherwise silent room. My teeth grit together so hard I'm sure they'll crack as I throw my head forward and back as it's the only part of my body I can freely move.

Khun Vegas laughs as he watches me. His grin growing wider with every yell I made. He pulls the cable away, and I feel the slick coating of sweat on my skin and the scrape of concrete scratching into my back. I struggle to breath heaving sour air into my lungs. My legs go so weak I can barely feel them. I slump against the pillar as Khun Vegas raises his chin at me. "One more time?" He asks, almost gleefully. I can't smile anymore, I don't even try. Then he jabs at me again and my mind and body know nothing except pain.
