AKI YANG

     When Aki's consciousness starts to return, the memory fragments of his conversation with the System slowly begin to assemble. Nothing can prepare him for the throbbing pain beneath his temples and the nausea roiling inside him upon opening his eyes, a sudden urge to vomit flooding his already sensitive body.

     "Ow," Aki groans, dry heaving when another wave of nausea hits him like a brick. He coughs into his hand, wincing at how sore and scratchy his entire throat feels. It's nothing compared to the itchy feeling inside his brain - a presence that has long established itself, calling itself the System.

(Don't worry Host, it's all part of the transmigration process,) The mentioned pained in the ass remarks in his mind, its robotic voice mildly amused at the boy's state. Aki's distress must be palpable, because the System sounds less entertained and more gentle as it carries on, (Your soul is adapting to your body. It will be over soon.)

     "Fuck," Aki croaks, half-listening and half-trying not to pass out from the pain. He grabs the bedsheets and clenches his teeth to stave off another pained groan that almost escapes his mouth. He tries sitting up, wincing when his heart begins to pound erratically in his chest. Black spots once again obscure his vision, and his eyes drift in and out of focus.

     Once the System confirms that Aki is conscious enough to pay attention, it nonchalantly remarks that Aki will recover in under a minute. It then adds a request for him not to faint and complicate its job. Aki senses a hint of cynicism in the System's tone, but he's far too out of it to pay proper attention to what was said after another wave of nausea hits him.

     He can finally breathe out a sigh of relief a moment later when the pain finally starts to subside. Shakily, he exhales, sits up, and puts his back against the wall for support. His mind instantly goes back to the countless times his previous family members had tried to eliminate him for his position at his father's company. Coming from a family of rich maniacs, it's something that he's used to - after all, he's here because his jealous stepbrothers got him killed to inherit the company instead of him. However, the pain that rattled his bones is on another level, and Aki prays that he doesn't have to go through that ever again.

     While the System is suspiciously quiet inside his mind, Aki takes a quick look around, noting that he's inside an extravagant room. He tries not to sigh when he realizes that he cannot escape the rich life here either. He doesn't think there is anything wrong with being rich and having more than enough money to satisfy all your desires, no. However, he prefers the freedom of living a normal life instead of constantly having to look behind his back, afraid he will be backstabbed by those supposed to have his back, thank you very much.

(The Host's heart rate has stabilized. Congratulations on your successful transition to the universe of 'Lookism'!) The System chimes, its monotonous voice reverberating through Aki's mind.

     Aki cannot help but scowl at the irony of being congratulated for waking up in a completely different universe against his will.

     As much as he dislikes the System, he cannot help but appreciate whatever the entity above it gave him another chance at living. Maybe, this time around he can actually start living instead of just surviving. "Go ahead," he responds after he lets out a tired sigh, the aftereffects of his previous state depleting him of energy.

(As the Host is visibly exhausted, I'll provide a brief summary,) The System's voice carries a tone that's both amused and sympathetic. (As previously mentioned before the transmigration process began, you've been brought to this universe to aid the Main System.
