Clare's POV

I put my hair into a ponytail and begin my morning run. in a new city, new state, new job, new everything. In the middle of my ru I get distracted by the park children are playing, I then run into a hard wall. before I can fall, the wall grabs my shoulders- wait...

I look up at the human and I look up into the most beautiful blue eyes.

"Clare?" He asks.

"How do you know my name?" I ask, slightly freaked out.

"Do you seriously not remember me? Your 23 or something not 80," he sighs, looking at me.

I think about and then I realize I only know one person with light blue eyes. "Zach," I whisper. I look back into his blue eyes, I scratch the ball of my neck and ask, "Hey Ronald what are you doing here?"I joke.

"I've lived here for about two years," he answers.

"Well, how's life," I awkwardly balance on my heals.

"Good," he awkwardly bites his bottom lip.

"So are you in a relationship?" I ask.

"Just got out of one," he nods.

"Oh I'm sorry,"

"Nah it's okay, what about you?"

"Single as a Pringle," I laugh.

"Why are we so awkward with each other? It's been 9 years,"

"Because we broke up when we were in like senior  year of high school," I say monotonously.

"I have to go," I rush and I begin to walk away from my blue eyes ex.

Later that day I went to get food after work, and guess who I saw, yes. Him.

"What's up Ronald," I laugh walking over to the table where he is seated. I slide into the seat across from him.

"Hey Clare," Zack smiles.

"Hi Zach," I say. "Weird, we saw each other this morning and now we see each other once again," I say.

 "Yeah it is," he says."How are your brothers, and your dad?" He asks.

"Ryan Is actually successful. Alex is doing what ever he does, he has a girlfriend though, Drew is married, with 3 kids, and dad is dad," I finish.

"Have you spoken to Bree or Kayla?"

"Yeah, I have an apartment with Kayla, and Bree is engaged with Ryan," I say.

"Oh didn't see that coming," He laughs.

"How's Aaron and your mom?"

"Dad is still a workaholic, and Mom is actually starting to do gardening,"

"Awe that's nice," I smile.

"Yeah," he shrugs his shoulders and he looks at me in the eyes, "I'm going to be honest, I missed you, a lot. I literally could not find the strength to do anything. My whole world was empty, I didn't know what to do with my life." he confesses.

"I only broke up with you because we both got busy and didn't have time for each other." I say. " But I was literally heart broken, Kayla and Bree we're making me sit through the whole heart broken girl shit. as in eating tubs of ice-cream, watching sappy love movies, so on,"

"Girls actually do that?"

"Yes," I bluntly say.

he grabs my hand rom across the table, and rubs his thumb over my knuckles.

"Did you ever start loving that girl?" I ask,

"How could I when I never stopped loving you?: He answers with a question.

I stand up and look at him dumbfounded. Zach It's been 9 fucking years, how could you not forget about me?"

"Because you were the first girl I actually loved!" He says.

"Did you ever actually move on?" I ask.

"No not really," He mumbles, scratching the back of his neck.

I sigh and look into his blue eyes, Ugh why does he have to be so fucking cute?

I wrap my arms around his torso and rest y chin on hi shoulder. he slowly wraps his arms around me and he rests his chin on my head.

"Clare, Don't ever leave me again,"

"I wont, I promise," I say, "Now lets go we are getting weird stares," I laugh. we walk out of the restaurant together with his arm wrapped around my waist, We exchange number and go our separate ways, for now. But all I know is that the universe gave me a second chance, and I am never letting this chance slip away.

this is finally the end of this story I feel like the ending of this is pretty much the same as the last chapter but oh well I don't really care.  Well I do but You get what I mean. Oh well This is a goodbye to this book (Which sort of sucks) and a hello to my spin off "My Best Friends Brother" Go read that If you are interested in Ryan's love life and he is secretly my favorite. that's a side note but yeah.
