"Do you think he fancies you?" Hermione asked Tessa as we walked down the corridor.

"It's not like that," Tessa replied as she studied her schedule.

"Bull. You've had a thing for him since 1st year." I winked at her.

"Whatever, are you guys taking potions this year I have it for tomorrow?" Tessa asked as she hid her smile.

"Yes, Slughorn in 30 minutes. Do you know who has that class? Lavender Brown, she is so bloody annoying I don't know how I'll survive that class." Hermione rolled her eyes.

"Good I have that class too, but don't you guys share a dorm? What's wrong with you two?"

"If I'm being honest? She's daft, I don't know if she likes Ron but she acts weird every time she's around him. And I don't care of course but I hate when girls switch up their entire personality when they're around boys." She said all in one breath.

"I get you, just try to be okay with her since you guys sleep in the same room," Tessa suggested.

"I'll see you guys at lunch," she said in a giddy voice as she disappeared from my side.

Hermione and I looked over at her, Tessa's attention was averted to Lorenzo Berkshire. They walked off in the opposite direction we were walking towards.

Hermione scoffed, "I never say anything like this but Lorenzo Berkshire is completely gorgeous."

"I'm prettier don't ya think?" a voice said from behind us.

I turned around to see Theo looking at us with a lazy grin.

Instead of replying to Theo, Hermione grinned at me and said she'd see me in class.

"Hey," I said looking up at him next to me. I can't get over how tall he is.

"Hi gorgeous, where's your class?" he asked with a small smile.

I gave him my schedule, "Potions, you?"

"I do too. Looks like you're my new potions partner."

I scoffed, "I so did not agree to that."

He frowned, "I didn't give you a choice. And as my new friend, I think it'd be a little rude if you said no."

"You're right, sorry. I'm just a little on edge, you know? It's been a while since I've been here and the last time I was here it was horrible."

He sighed, "Yeah I know. How was it in France?"

I smiled at the mention of my time in France, "So good, everything went as good as it could've. I learned so many different things, I was in a dance class, and I learned about the history of the academy. I learned so many different things and met amazing people, it was perfect."

"That's good, I'm glad."

"I'm happy to be back though, things are different this time. I won't let Draco steamroll through me anymore."

Theo laughed under his breath, "For what it's worth I won't let him steamroll over you either."

We walked into our class, a few minutes early. My breath caught when I saw him.

He was taller, his hair was neater, his demeanor was colder, and his eyes were greyer. I slightly grabbed Theo's arm and let go as soon as I realized what I was doing. "Sorry"

I'm okay, I'm not bothered by his presence.

"What'd I miss last year?" I asked as I focused on him.
