Cassie
I hated to leave him like that, but the truth was, I had business to take care of. I could feel his prying eyes on me as I walked away from the conversation between us and Michael's partner. I was happy to know that she was married. Just the thought of Michael working alongside a female sent me into high gear. Yes, I was jealous, but I wasn't going to admit that to him.
I trudged towards the back of the venue to speak with some of my guys about what was taking place. They all were in a huddle, discussing heavily on something. That is, until they all straightened themselves out when they saw that I arrived.
"What do we have?" I asked them, seeming completely unfazed by their behavior.
"PC, we found ourselves a little bit of a traitor." Marco said lowly into my ear.
"Yeah, homeboy's been working the streets for Tobias." Matteo said.
"What do you mean? Who is it?" They each shook their heads, almost like they felt remorseful about it.
"It's Russel."
My blood boiled at the sound of his name. I hadn't done much business with him, but any sort of business with me should mean something. However, it seemed like he couldn't have cared less about loyalty.
"Where is he now?" I questioned, hoping they'd have an answer.
"Last time we saw him, he was chatting it up with some pretty boy I've never seen."
Pretty boy?
"Where?"
They pointed back out to the main area as I searched for Russel's scheming face. I looked around for a few minutes, only to see him standing in the corner. With Michael. I groaned irritably at the sight. I know that Michael is trying to bust people without busting me, but the last thing he needed to do was get involved with Russel. Especially with daddy dearest involved.
"Get Russel away from him. That man is to not be touched by anyone. Do you understand?" My men nodded their head before dispersing into the crowd.
I watched from a distance to see them still chatting up, that is until Russel officially left. A few of my men grabbed him discreetly before taking him upstairs. I waited for them to disappear from my sight before I made my way to them. From a distance, I watched Michael look around frantically.
It pained me to leave him worried about me, but the less he knew about what was going on, the better. I wanted to find Tobias and take care of him myself. After hearing of what's been going on with the trafficking and the murders and the drugs, I can't just let him continue this way. I know I'm no better, but I'm trying to revert to good. For Michael's sake, at least.
I ascended the staircase and walked towards the room that Russel was taken into. I quickly removed my gun from my thigh holster before standing by my men. Marco stayed by my side as the others entered ahead of us. I walked inside to see a single light shining over Russel.
"Who the hell are you?" He asked through rugged breaths.
I let out a sinister chuckle before coming closer to him.
"Interesting thing about business deals, when one agrees on something, they expect loyalty back in return."
Russel looked up at me in shock. However that shock was replaced with amusement upon his face instead.
"You're Parker Chandler? I would have never guessed. You look so-" Before he could finish that sentence, I struck him across the face with my gun.
