I woke up the next day feeling rather refreshed. I looked over to see that Cassie wasn't in bed. I heard some movement outside of the bedroom, making me feel better on her whereabouts. I reached over to grab my phone from my nightstand to see that Janet texted me.
Sorry for the late response, I got sidetracked. Everyone is good for today. Is noon too early?
I looked at the clock to see it reading 10:00.
Shouldn't be an issue. I just got up, long night at the precinct. Also, Cassie's mother and stepfather will be joining us. Kind of a way for you guys to meet them, especially since they live across the street.
Janet didn't take too long to respond.
Really? I had no idea. They're more than welcome to join. I'll let mom know. See you lovebirds soon!!
I rolled my eyes as I got up from the bed to find my gorgeous fiancé. The faint smell of food wafted through the air, making my stomach begin to growl. Cassie was in the kitchen wearing an oversized tee that covered everything, all but the slight bit of her bare ass. I bit my lip as I inched closer.
"Good morning, Casanova." She said without even turning around.
"Good morning, my love." I wrapped my arms around her and kissed her head all the way down to her shoulders.
"You better quit, otherwise this french toast batter is going to get on you." I giggled at her scolding.
"What? I wanted to kiss my beautiful fiancé since I couldn't last night." She turned around to grin at me as she placed the batter soaked bread in a pan.
"Yeah, sorry about that. I was trying to wait up for you, but I've been so exhausted lately with pulling late nights at the warehouses. I've gotten rid of almost three quarters of my products." I smiled exuberantly.
"That's wonderful! I know you must be happy about that, right?" She let out a deep sigh as she flipped the bread and set the other pieces on a plate.
"You know, I honestly am. It feels good to get out of the game. It's a very dangerous world to live in, which is why it's best I get out of it now before things got worse. Unfortunately, it's all that I know." I nodded my head understandably.
"I get that. It's going to be hard trying to get used to something that isn't familiar. What about your businesses?"
She turned away from the stove to grab the pot of coffee to fill two mugs with. Cassie turned to me and slid me one of the mugs as she leaned against the island.
"That's what I wanted to talk to you about. I want to be able to keep running my businesses, obviously without the drugs. Would I be able to buy the businesses or a business in my name as if they were sold to me?" I tapped my chin thoughtfully.
"I mean you should. Obviously there would need to be a contract formed in order to prove that the selling of the business is legal. Although it would look a little suspicious if you bought all of the businesses." She nodded her head.
"I'm still keeping the rest in Parker Chandler's name, but I want to put the Sunset Dive in my name. I don't want that to be tied to my other world anymore. That place means a lot to me, especially since that's where we first met." She looked into my eyes lovingly and it was hard to not grin under her intense stare.
"I love you." I reached across the island to grab her hand, bringing it to my lips for a kiss.
"I love you too. Now, let's eat because I am starving!" I laughed at her need to eat.
"Me too. Also, we're going over to my parents at noon. Is that going to be okay for your mom and Daniel?" Cassie brought over the plate full of french toast to the table as she sat across from me.
