Relaxation

I stared in awe at her. No matter what the scenery was like or the situation, she still managed to look beautiful. However, there was something about her that didn't seem right. She looked like she hadn't slept in days and seemed thinner. I worried at the sight of her.

"I had to see you." I said to her.

"No sense in standing outside." She stepped aside, letting me have access to her home.

Each step I took brought me closer to her, but with each step, the faint smell of marijuana and alcohol filled my nostrils. I decided to not comment on it and walked inside. The smell grew stronger as I stepped further and further inside. The entire house was a disaster. Shattered glass covered the floor, torn up pillows lined the couches with piles of feathers on each cushion, empty liquor bottles lined the kitchen counters. She wasn't handling this well, and I felt at blame.

"You'll have to excuse the mess. I haven't cleaned in a bit."

It was then when I noticed her eyes. Her eyes had grown dark and were blood shot. She was almost completely unrecognizable. Dark circles lined underneath her eyes as a glimmer of exhaustion filled her eyes.

"I don't care. That's not why I'm here." I said as I stuck my hands in my pockets.

"Then why are you here?" She adjusted her black satin robe around her shoulders.

"Cassie, I love you. So damn much. It's been hell these last couple of weeks just trying to come to terms with everything. I could have reached out, and I should have, but I didn't want you thinking I was pressuring you. There's been no one else that I've wanted to be with more than you." I tried to fight the tears from filling my eyes, but they wouldn't listen.

Cassie stayed silent, barely making any sudden movements. I was getting a bit concerned, so I continued with my words.

"I know you come from a place of care and I love how much you do. The only reason why I was doing what I was doing was because I want to keep you safe and put Tobias behind bars. I know that it's a risky move, but I want to do everything that I can to protect you. You mean so much to me and I can't be without you anymore."

She still stayed silent, making me extremely nervous. That is, until she opened her mouth to speak.

"I can't be with you if you're going to try to find Tobias. I've already lost one person in my life and I'm not going to lose another. Especially you. You wonder why I don't try to kill Tobias myself, it's because I know how he is. He is always four steps ahead of me and I don't even realize it. If you're going to go after him, then we can't be with each other. I can't stand to lose you."

I think this was the first time I've ever seen a true emotional side to her. It was an interesting experience, but I couldn't deny how happy I was to see that.

"And you won't. I'm not going to lose you and you're not going to lose me. If it's one thing I've learned about you, it's that when shit gets tough, you bolt. I'm not going to let you get out of my grasp that easily." She stared at me in awe.

"You shouldn't be with me, anyway, Michael. You shouldn't want to be with me. I'm bad for you. I'm a drug dealer, I've killed people, my father is a psychopath. It doesn't get much better from here." I shook my head.

"I disagree. I fell in love with you because of who you are. Not because of your past. You're an amazing person, and despite all of those things, you still mean more to me than anyone." I tucked her hair behind her ear as I leaned in closely.

"Besides, I kind of like the taste of weed on you."

She raised her eyebrows at me shockingly before I pulled her in close. Our kiss grew hungrier as we continued on. Her hands were in my hair as I let my hands travel down the satin material of her robe. The taste of marijuana grew even more prevalent as I allowed my tongue to explore the inside of her mouth. She pulled away from me in an instant before looking at me with all seriousness.

"Promise me something." She said seriously.

"Anything."

"Do not go looking for Tobias."

I sighed deeply. I had a plan in motion, but the last thing I needed her to know was that I was still doing it. However, it won't be me.

"I promise." She looked at me deeply before turning on her heel.

"Are you coming?" I grinned widely as I followed her to her bedroom.

In a matter of seconds, we stood outside of the door. She opened it carefully, before the same smell hit me like a brick. Her bedroom was much worse than outside. Everything was flipped upside down. Pillows were strewn across the room with feathers decorating every inch. Both lamps were across the room with shattered glass underneath them. Tables and chairs were flipped over and a shattered mirror lined the bathroom. I glanced over at a small side table to see particles of cocaine still on a tray while a blunt full of weed was halfway smoked.

"Cassie-"

"Look, don't get all copish with me right now. This is just a minor setback." She wiped her nose before sitting on the edge of the bed.

"I'm sorry." I said with a sigh

"For what?" She asked, completely oblivious.

"For causing this. I feel like it's my fault."

She shook her head before coming to me, placing her lips on top of mine to shut me up.

"Let's not talk about this."

That same look I admired so much returned to her face as butterflies erupted inside of me. She pushed me back on the bed as she walked over to the same table as before.

"What are you-" She stuck the blunt between her lips as she lit the end of it.

"Whatever you see here, stays here. Got it?"

She took a hefty drag of the material before blowing it outside of her already open window. She began to untie her robe to reveal the most beautiful body, completely covered in black lace.

"Open your mouth." She inhaled the material again.

"No, I'm not taking drugs." She shook her head.

"Listen, you cops think that weed is some illegal substance when really, it is a natural substance. It's a plant that is dried up and used for medicinal purposes, most times. I don't lace my shit with anything, it's pure and clean. Now, open up."

Reluctantly, I did so. Cassie removed her robe and let it fall to the floor before taking in a long drag. She straddled each side of me before bending down to my lips. She enclosed the gap between us, but not without releasing the puff of smoke into my mouth. I coughed at the uncomfortable feeling I got when it went down my throat, but I released a sigh after I soon began to calm down.

We continued to make out while she was still on top of me. I groaned in satisfaction as she put aside her blunt and began to leave wet kisses down the side of my neck. I rubbed up and down her body, rocking her back and forth slowly on top of me. I could feel her body grinding on top and it was such a heavenly feeling. Suddenly, she stopped and looked at me with that same ravenous glint in her eyes.

"Let's get you relaxed."
