Two days had passed, and her apartment had become her prison. She had a schedule now, stared out the window until she fell asleep, and had dreams of herself, yet in them, she had fully black eyes. Wake up, make a lame excuse for breakfast for Kim-ra, and then stare out the window until lunch. Continue till dinner, then sleep in the bathroom for a while before returning to the window.

Right now, she sat in the bathroom, watching her sister start to get mad at her again. She started to make those wails from her mouth, waiting for something. "I don't know what you want?" Standing up, she received a sharp claw to her shin.

"Goodnight Kimmy, see you in the morning." She sighed before returning to her window. A day ago, the power had gone out, leaving her in darkness. "I wonder how many other people there are left?"

Her monster self visits her in her dreams again.

"What are you?" The monster laughs. "Ju-na, let me take over. I can protect Kim-ra. Just let me in."

"But, you're already in me. Isn't that what this is? The whole nosebleeds and healing stuff? What else could you possibly do?"

She watches as the monster starts to change shape, grinning as wings stab through its back, curling around it. Horns and claws grow on it, showing her what she would look like as a monster.

"Is that what I will turn into?" "Yes! And you can help your sister!" "But she doesn't even speak to me. What if I can't turn back?"

"You can, that's what makes you so special."

Ju-na wakes by the sound of a high-pitched squeal. This sets off Kim-ra, but that's not what grabs her attention. An announcement means people and people means food.

"Survivors, the first floor is safe now. Come to the first floor. We'll be safer together. We survivors… must stick together. Please come down. Come down here now. I said please come-"

The announcement cut out, but hope started filling her. Running to the bathroom, she opened the door, looking at her sister. "Kimmy, I'll be back soon, okay?" She shut the door before she had to deal with her sister any longer.

"I have to go out and get food. But I can't stay. They wouldn't let a monster into their safe haven."

She opened the door for the first time in 4 days. "Holy shit." Chaos had erupted outside her room, with walls broken and stairs falling apart. Walking down halfway, she saw that her neighbour, room 1510, actually had ram marks in the door.

"I hope she's okay." She whispered to herself before continuing towards the ground floor. "Damn it, I hate power outages." She grumbled, walking past the broken elevator and towards the many levels of stairs.

"Holy shit on fire." Ju-na doubled over, puffed as she finally reached the bottom level of the building. "Was there a reason why there are so many stairs? A ramp could've been useful for fucks sake."

Surprisingly, she hadn't encountered any monsters on the way down, or people. Looking at the doors infront of her she knew that the convenience store would be opposite her, and the nursery close by.

"First food, then a toy for Kim-ra." She grabbed the door handle and pushed, resulting in little movement. "Why block the doors if you want us to come down? Whoever is in charge needs a kick to the head."

She heaved against the door, opening it just enough to sneak through and into the waiting area. The faint sound of voices travel down the hallway, telling her she was safe for now.

Running to the convenience store, she found it also locked. "Far out, can't a girl get a little help?" She pulled on the lock before getting a pin out of her hair. She unlocked the lock after a bit of jiggling, letting her into the food.

"Let's go shopping." Grabbing a nearby basket, she started to pile it with goods for her and her sister. "Do you think they will notice?" The owner of the store was a pig and would probably lose what little hair he had left if a can of beans was missing.

She sighed before putting her items back on the shelves. "I'll get enough for a day, then come back. It should be easy enough, right?"

She quietly crept out the store and towards the nursery, where she grabbed a teddy for her sister. The sound of conversation reached her, stopping her.

"Don't you dare turn. Got it? You crazy monster, or I'll slice your throat myself."

"Well, I guess I'm not the only person who's turning." Ju-na grins to herself before heading back up to her room and sister.
