Snow falls softly on the ground, offering a sweet gentle silence. Much like iced tea is refreshing in the summer, the silence of snow is a fresh reprieve from the constant hustle and bustle of the day. The air is frigid and cuts like a double edged sword. Winter is a season of strengthening for the mind. Surely the dark days and absence of warmth will bring a soul to its knees. A humbling experience, a necessary one. A reminder that there are many things small and tall that are appreciated despite the lack of acknowledgment. Winter reminds that being outside is enjoyed more than most admit. It peels back the curtain to the stage of life, showing a friend, a family, a lover. Another reminder the human existence was not meant to be alone. Winter is the physical manifestation of resilience. Even in the cutting wind, the stinging of ice, Winter holds life in a fragile state. Winter sends frost to cover like a blanket and only then does it truly freeze. Winter does not seek to destroy but to remind of mortality.
