So here we were. A light fae, Dark fae king, and halfling fae all in the middle of one big clusterfuck. You know, a clusterfuck, otherwise known as a disastrously mishandled situation. Yet you haven't even heard the entire situation but let me warn you, it was indeed...a clusterfuck.
"Don't fucking put this shit on me!" My father had shouted at me as Darren pulled me back a few steps, "You were the one stupid enough to take off on your own! You never should have left the palace in the first place!" He said to me. "You're not her! You can't pull this bullshit!" My father retorted angrily, "You're going to get yourself and your pathetic little boyfriend killed alongside of you!" He argued, "Just like she killed herself along with that pathetic boy that she fell for!" He finished coldly and I could feel the tension get heavier than before. "He's not my boyfriend!" I shouted at the same time Darren turned to look at him while maintaining a grip on my arm and said, "She's not my girlfriend!" quite defensively. Though I sensed he was nowhere near as pissed at that insinuation as he was the way my father spoke of Seth. "Don't get me wrong you dating is fine, Naryssa" My father retorted, still not listening to a word I said to him, "But at least date a dark fairy, you saw how dating a light fairy worked out for the boy your sister screwed around with..." He said far too flippantly.
"That boy had a fucking name you bastard!" Darren shouted at my father as he let me go and it seemed it was my turn to keep this ridiculously mishandled argument from escalating. "I'm aware of his name, I was the one who tortured it out of him..." My father callously said as he met Darren's glare with an amused look on his face. I was stunned by my father's blatantly cruel remark. Darren, however, had finally hit his tipping point as he stepped forward and I clumsily but quickly grabbed hold of Darren, managing to place myself between him and my father as I pushed against his shoulders. He stopped but he didn't look away from my father once as I put myself in his way. "Darren! Don't! I pleaded with him and after a moment he tore his angry gaze from my father and looked at me, the rage and pain inside those forest green eyes were so intense it was startling. "I'm taking a walk..." He snapped as he gently removed my hands and swiftly left the small home with a loud slam of the door behind him.
As the door slammed behind Darren, I immediately turned on my father, my anger bursting through the pain I had felt for Darren over my father's callous remark. "What the hell is fucking wrong with you?" I demanded to which my father had flippantly and easily retorted, "He'll get over it. It's not my fault your boyfriend is a little bitch..." He retorted which only pissed me off further. "He isn't my boyfriend and you're being a dick!" I shouted at him which only seemed to set off his own temper again. "Well, I wouldn't have to be one, Naryssa if you hadn't gone running off to play hero!" He shouted at me angrily. "Look at yourself! This is not a fucking game! If it makes me a monster because I'd sooner lock you in the dungeons than let you get yourself killed so fucking, be it!" He shouted. I was stunned by the man that stood before me because this was not the father I had grown up with. This was not the man I had known. This was the side of him that my sister had known and written about. Sure, I had seen his patience and temper tested before, once or twice he'd lost it enough to throw something, but I had never heard him be so pointlessly cruel like this. Especially not towards me.
"It's time to stop playing around and go home" He told me but I shook my head at him as I spoke up, "No! You can't just sideline me! You read what she said! I have to do this!" I argued fiercely as I felt my temper flare up again. "You didn't know her! You think those journals told everything?" he demanded as he took a step towards me as he continued on. "Do you want to know where this path will get you, Naryssa?" He demanded harshly, "Let me tell you the part she didn't about when we were in that other world" He continued not giving me a moment to interject. "She left out every time I caught her tearing the place apart in a fit or every time that I had to stop her from hurting herself! She didn't tell you she barely made it back here and I don't mean because of the boy who shot her!" He ranted emotionally. "And who helped break her? Maybe if you hadn't tortured her and traumatized her, she'd of had a chance!" I asked him harshly as I pushed past him with tears running down my face.
