Aelar's Pov,
The Next Day.Walking into the small Council room I see the others already there as I step over to the seat of Viserys and take a seat. "Sit please." I say and they place the balls in the holders before taking a seat while I look around them.
"We build outposts on step stones." I say as I put the map down and point at the location. "There is nothing at the step stones, why put our men and coin into it. Sounds foolish to me." The lion says and I raise my brow at him.
"If they take it back, war comes again, war is more expensive than doing what I say." I say as I look at him before looking back at the map. "We build, here, here and here." I say as I point at three islands that will make one line that way, they cannot easily pass them it will be like a border.
"So that it would be a border, it may work, or it may anger the Triarchy more." Lord Lyonel speaks, and I shake my head. "Maybe, but what do we hold that no one else in Westeros or Essos does?" I ask as I look around the table.
"Dragons, Arrax, Syrax, Sea Smoke, Meleys, Vhagar, unclaimed dragons or who need to hatch. The Triarchy not dare to go against us if are wise. Lord Lannister you take fleet with 5000 men and see that is done in a year." I speak as I look at him.
"Me? Would I not be of more use here, your grace." He says with slight wide eyes and I shake my head. "Are you not master of ships? You hold fleet we need for this, and I heard Lannister's are excellent builders." I say as I hold back the gag that tries to leave my lips.
"We are indeed you should see Castely Rock, you've never seen anything so beautiful. Your grace." He says and I give him a slight nod. "Maybe one day now I wish for you to get it done, it may cost the realm coin, but it will be less than Step Stones get taken again."
...............................................
"No, no, no. Like this." I say to Leanor as I put the sword in a different angle and he holds the hammer still in the air, like promised I will teach Leanor how to craft Valyrian steel so far... .well we still have a long road to go. And then there is still the fact that the magic inside of him may not be strong enough, or the bond between him and Sea Smoke will not be enough.
"And you're teaching me this because?" He asks as he starts to hammer again while I run my hand through my sweaty hair. "It is our history, it is our future." I say as I take the sword from him and look the edge over, we are starting with forging normal weapons after that we will bring the making Valyrian steel into it.
"So, we are the only ones alive right now who could make Valyrian steel?" He asks and I shrug my shoulders as I grab the two water skins and hand him one after I laid the sword down. "Who says you can craft it, I teach you what to do, I tell you words to say in the end comes down to you and Sea Smoke. Valyrian Steel not expensive because it comes from a rare material, it was expensive because it takes a long time to craft and it needs a dragon lord and its dragon, and even then, it does not mean that they can craft it. We are two of the few Dragon Riders left in this world but that not mean can craft it." I say before taking some sips of the water.
He speaks to me in High Valyrian and I to him in the Common tongue of Westeros, it is good practice for the both of us, he knows basic commands for Sea Smoke in High Valyrian and well i still need practice with their language. I am getting better in understanding it but speaking it is still a whole thing to do.
"So it was expensive because only a few could craft it and the time that goes into it?" Leanor says after taking some sips from his water and I give him a nod. "Many think they are above this work, others tried but could not steel would turn to ashes from their dragons flames." I say before I see Rhaenyra walk over with Leana, she comes to visit her brother often.
Seeing Leanor put the waterbag down he quickly walks over to his sister before pulling her in a hug while I grab the sword I have been working on in hands and look it over. "You do anything else then forging?" Rhaenyra asks almost teasingly, and I give her a small smirk. "Yes I please my wife in bed, or anywhere else she wishes." I speak as I turn my head in her direction.
"Or lead when my father is sick, clearly he found everything he has ever wished for in you." She mumbles and I release a sigh as I put the blade down and walk over to her. I knew she could feel this way when Viserys said I would lead in his time of sickness.
"Your fathers loves you, next meeting we go together you speak what you wish, they listen I promise." I say as I let our eyes meet. "And will they listen because I am the heir or because they fear and respect you, I've heard you are sending Tyland Lannister to the Step Stones to build outposts." She says and I give her a nod.
"You do not agree?"
"I never said I did not husband, it's smart and may keep the Triarchy from resurfacing again. War is more expensive than building outposts, so I agree with your plan." She says making a hum leave my lips as I grab her hips and turn her around before pushing her against the anvil.
"So you are more than just a pretty face." I tease as I start to trail my lips down her neck while I feel her shiver under them. "You thought I could not think for myself or have a opinion?" She counters and I let a grin appear on my face before I bite down on her sweet spot pulling a soft moan from her lips.
"The second I laid my eyes on you, you spiked my interest and not only because I think you are beautiful." I whisper against her skin before a voice pulls us away as Alicent walks over with a maiden who has Aegon on her arm.
"A-alar!" He yells as he sees me and makes grabby hands making a chuckle leave my lips as I take him from the maiden and look him over. "Aelar." I correct him and he frows his brows at me. "A-aelar." He now says and I give him a nod with a small smile playing on my lips.
"Seems he is very fond of you, your grace." Alicent says and I have to stop my brow from raising must be Viserys his doing even if my kingdom lays in ruins at this very moment he still wishes that people address me with the Your Grace or some even have said King. But there is this tension still between her and Rhaenyra I thought maybe after our wedding or the fact that we spend time with her children would lessen it but it seems like it only has become worse and worse with every passing day.
"He is not bad company." I say as I hold Aegon above my head while laughter leaves him as he trashes around before I place him on my shoulders and hold his legs so he does not fall off.
"Better than his mother at least." Rhaenyra says and I raise my brow at her. "Play nice you could have been her, in this world it is not often a woman holds the power to say no when a man wishes to wed her. Or she has the strength to go against her father's wishes, you could have been sold off to a much older man who would use you for heirs and nothing more." I speak as I look at her while Aegon mumbles while playing with my hair.
"And why did you wed me? For my name? For my face? The heirs I could produce you? Or for the Iron Throne." She says as she lays her hand on my chest while her moves it's fingertips over my jawline.
"I gave Viserys the idea for the Throne, for my plan and you are of the blood of Valyria where the Targaryen's where Dragon Lords. You cannot blame me for wanting to wed one of the last women alive who has that blood and a dragon. But in the end if we put all those things aside I am here now because I also hold love for you." I say as her eyes search mine before she leans up and places her lips against mine.
"I love you too."
