The drive is lengthy. Wherever he's driving is far from any city. It's strange... this guy must be important because as soon as we got far away from any signs of life, the bodyguard called someone, saying "We've left, tail us." After that, a few matching vehicles began driving behind us.

It's been two hours on the road, and I'm contemplating sleep at this point. Before my eyes can shut, the bodyguard speaks from the front.

"Sir, we're here," he says, glancing at Taehyung in the rear-view mirror. Taehyung shifts, leaning forward and looking out the front window.

"Good, open the gates,"

I tilt my head a little, seeing a massive, black gate with sharp spikes on top of the metal fence that travels so far it disappears.

We're parked in a driveway. It's hidden or at least at night, it seems that way. When I glimpse behind me, the few vehicles that were following us have vanished. The setting has turned so creepy in a blink of an eye.

The bodyguard pushes a button close to the rear-view mirror. The gates begin opening slowly. He keeps his eyes on the dark driveway, and the bright headlights illuminate the darkness. He puts the vehicle in drive and eases onwards.

Once crossing the gateway, I scan outside the window and turn back to watch the gates shut.

It's a foggy night. There are dozens of trees aligned vertically on each side of the drive.

They conceal the paved road so vastly the moon is not visible through the thickness of the tree limbs. The balance between the light and dark cut through the narrow gaps between each broad tree. It's eerie, gloomy, and above all, in the middle of nowhere.

Who in their right mind would want to live out so far? We haven't passed another house since at least forty minutes ago.

It takes ten minutes to drive down the road.

The surroundings change. The trees lean inward as if guarding what's at the end of the driveway. We reach a small hill ahead. The vehicle begins going up the tiny slope where the trees stop at the top.

Once situated on the hill, my jaw goes slack.

Everything is visible from miles away. The bewitching moon, the enormous mountains in the distance, the glistening stars in the sky.

But that's not the reason why my mouth is open in awe. My attention is transfixed on the prodigious mansion ahead.

It's constructed out of grey brick and is a three-story house. Bushes and trees are planted nearly everywhere on the property. The grass is mowed in a clean cut, and the pavement loops in a circle with a massively-sized black fountain resting in the center. The fountain pours over with the most gleaming shade of aqua blue as it flows to the base. It's undeniably gorgeous, and I've never laid eyes on anything like it.

The vehicle continues down the hill, driving further until he rounds the corner of the fountain. He pulls up to the porch steps. Taehyung opens his door, and I follow, stepping out on my side. I tilt my head, impressed by the sight around me.

The extended, porch steps are white, finely cut from marble. The front doors are arched into an upside-down U, painted black. There are a few lights on inside.
