Part 27

Lewis's POV (Continued)

The rain stopped

I drove back to the hotel slowly, holding her close so she wouldn't wake up. Arriving at the hotel, I carried her in and instructed the staff to get her bag, then told them my room number. Holding her, I noticed Susie and Toto.

"Excuse me, Sir, Ma'am, she's asleep. Can I please put her in my room before we talk?" I requested.

"Lewis... the race is most likely canceled," Toto said.

"Is she okay?" Susie asked.

"Carlos, Checo, and Carlos' ex lied to her and hurt her, so now she needs sleep and a calm weekend," I explained.

"Can you put me down? I want to hug Susie!" Rosie murmured.

"I thought you were still sleeping, Rosie." I set her down, and she went to hug Susie and Toto.

"When did you become so friendly with Toto, Rosie?" I teased a bit.

"When he texted me, telling me that you're the one who got me the F1/Sky Sports job before the Mercedes interview," Rosie replied, glancing at me.

"Okay, I was going to tell you, but you fell asleep," I defended myself. She burst into laughter, and I couldn't help but smile too.

"How long have you known each other, and how long have you been in love?" Toto asked directly.

"We knew each other when Checo came to Europe for karting, but I fell in love the second I saw a little girl making a flower crown for a sleeping Nico," I confessed, making Rosie blush.

"You saw that? I fell for him when I saw how hardworking he is. Hmm, I can't remember if our first talk was without Checo and Nico or when you helped that bunny when those kids threw rocks at it and said mean stuff to you..." Rosie said, but I looked at her, astonished.

"Checo told me you had left for Mexico when that happened?" I said.

"I might have lied to Checo to have an hour or two to hang out and talk to you," Rosie admitted.

"All I know is that they fell in love and were too scared to tell each other and anyone but me and Nico... So, Nico and I planned to get Rosa a little hurt, and Lewis would save her," Susie chimed in.

"What! So, that was Nico, not those kids that hurt that bunny!" Rosie exclaimed.

"Oh, that wasn't our plan. Those kids did push you, and you dislocated your shoulder. Lewis might have confronted the kids and got grounded," Susie revealed.

"From that day forward, I was known as Sir Lewis the knight in Rosie's eyes," I proudly claimed.

"And look at you now... Sir Lewis Hamilton, an 8-time world champ, still no wife, with one kid named Roscoe," Toto teased. I could see in rosa eyes she was hurt so I put my hand on her back.

"When she's ready to give me a chance, I'll be known as Lewis the husband, watching her interviews, making fun of all the drivers, and then seeing her have bum—"

"Okay! They are your bosses and my boss. Still, SIR," Rosie blushed, and then I wrapped my arms around her, pulling her closer.

"Okay, lovebirds, go get some sleep, just in case we do race this week," Toto said, walking away. Susie smiled and followed him. I carried her to my room, and I could tell she didn't want me to let go.
