pt. 1
Alaric sat at his dresser in front of his mirror, fixing up his hair. He discretely puts one out of the many concealment stones - lying on the dresser top in a little wooden box; successfully clearing his skin of all the many frickles littered across his skin. An irked expression sets on Alaric's face when he recognises two of the eldest Blight siblings barge into his room.
"Heeey Rickie deaarr, how are youuu!?" Emira teased when drawling her words, a satisfactory smirk present on her face when seeing how upset her youngest brother was. "Get out of my room." Alaric responded flatly when turning around to glare at the twins.
"Why are you being so mean? We just got here! All we wanted to do is check up on our sweet wittle baby bwother." Spoke Edric, imitating a child-like voice and reaching his hand over to ruffle his younger brother's hair.
Alaric was quick to stop Edric from touching and ruining his hair by firmly grabbing his wrist. "Don't you even think about it. What do want now?"
"Geez, no need to be so rude about it. Talk about killing the mood..." Edric muttered when pulling out of Alaric's grasp and gently massaging his wrist. "You can say that again." Emira adds with an unimpressed look on her face.
"If you don't get out of my room, I'm telling mother to punish both of you severely." Alaric threatens when getting up from his seat and pointing an accusing finger towards his siblings.
"Wait! Don't do that! Mom would LITERALLY kill us for real this time!" Edric dramatically exclaimed and Emira snorts with an eye roll.
"We're already in Slither Beast's cave, the last straw before we're teared to shreds. But we're in serious need of your help wittle Rickie! We're severely grounded and can't go to the Covention! Or anywhere outside the Manor for that matter!" Emira explained and Alaric scoffs with his arms crossed.
"And why does this involve me?" Alaric questions with a raised brow.
"We need you to convince mom to let us go out for just the Covention! We'll do anything to return the favour, promise!" Edric adds, pleaing with his sister. Alaric has a thoughtful face when placing his thumb and forefinger on his chin.
"No."
"Rickie please! We're begging you and will do anything!" Said Emira, desparate.
"Anything?" Alaric queries his siblings.
"Anything!" The Blight twins simultaneously answered at lighting speed.

Odalia was at the dining table when she notices Alaric walk by along with his elder siblings. She stands up from her chair and walks over to the threshold of the dining hall that led to a long hallway.
"And where do you think you two are going." Odalia calls out to her eldest children when they reach the front door with Alaric.
"I'm using them as my escorts for today's Covention. It's payback for that nasty slug prank they pulled on me." Alaric states while glaring at Emira and Edric - calling back to the time they switched his usual shampoo for slimy giant slug poo, it took weeks to get the horrendous smell and stickiness out of his hair.
Their mother was beyond furious."Why not have an Abomination accompany you? Surely it'll be more competent than those two." Odalia says, fully showing great distaste for her youngest son's decisions.
"I'm tired of looking at those disgusting creatures' faces, and it will get my stuff covered in its gross goop," Alaric tells his mother when the front door was opened my an Abomaton, "we should not waste any more time, let us get going."
Alaric walks out the house along with his siblings, the door soon being closed and muffling out their mother's cries for Alaric to return to the house for a further discussion - that will divulge into an argument and screaming contest.
‥
Once reaching the entrance area to the Covention, both Amira and Edric had pulled Alaric into a group hug and cooed out thank yous to the witchling - purposefully doing so to embarass the young boy.
"Urrghh! Enough!" He angrily shouts when shoving his way out of his siblings' grasp and swiftly fixing his hair. "I'm heading inside, you two better stay as far away from me during the time we're here." He grumbled when glowering at the twins.
"Sure, sure!" Emira remarks dismissively.
"No promises!" Edric adds with a grin.
Alaric just stares at them before rolling his eyes when heading inside the venue. He takes a good look around at the different covens, eyeing most of them critically or with disgust. Alaric eventually walks by the Illusionist Coven, spotting Luz, Gus and Willow along with King and what was supposed to be the Eda's attempt of a disguise.
"You've been taken in by the allure of the Illusionist Coven. We like to magic with a hint..." Gus starts before disappearing in a cloud of smoke, soon revealing himself a few feet away from the others. "...of showmanship." Gus bows as two other Illusionist witchlings appear beside him.
"Wow! Acceptance? Comradery? A sense of belonging? Covens sound incredible!" Luz gushed with excitement.
"They really are incredible, just as long as you don't plan on joining a futile coven such as Illusions." Alaric remarks smugly when walking up to them, making his presence known. "Some many resources are being wasted on such a measly coven."
"Alaric," Willow smiled strenuously at the boy, "nice to see you coming around the Covention.."
".. unsalted prestel.." Luz grumbled, irked to see Alaric.
"Hey, what's this kid's deal?" Eda whispered her question to Luz. "If he plans to rebel against all this coven nonsense, I already like his spirit."
"I recommend you set your eyes on much better covens if you plan on joining any," said Alaric as he looks over at an upset Gus with a smug grin, "do be careful with which coven you choose." Alaric walks off and Willow is quick to comfort her friend.
Luz places her hands on her hips out of anger when glaring Alaric. "Pendejo! Que te foll--"
"Hey Luz, take a look at this." Eda interjects as she wrapped an arm around the girl's shoulder when leaning over to the girl. She points over to an interaction between a Coven Scout with a witchling "But Eda--"
"You can get back to insulting in a moment, but what you must know is that when you join a coven, all your other magic is sealed away." Eda states as the Illusion coven seal in is imprinted on witchlings wrist with a contraption by the Coven Scout. Light blue lines runs from the seal and up the witchlings arms and face - he pales slightly as the lines fade. "From now on, that kid will only be able to make illusions. Since I never joined a coven, I can do every kind of magic."
Eda creates a ball of abomination goop in one hand that goes flying over her head to the other hand. The ball of goop turning into a ball of vines and flowers when reaching her over hand before disappearing into a small burst of flames. "That's why I'm the most powerful witch on the Boiling Isles."
The Owl Lady confidently walks forward, Willow, Luz, and Gus hurrying after her. The children were amazed and Eda let's a large toothy smile show itself proudly on her face. King follows the others, but is stopped with a hand placed on his shoulder.
"The tea leaves foretell that this," the Oracle witchling pulls out a pen and spins it in their, "will lead you to your destiny." The witch takes King's hand and puts it there in his palm.
King then stares at the pen. "Destiny? Feh! I'm not paying for--"
"It's freeee." The Oracle witchling states when reaching into a dark corner.
"Are you bestowing gifts upon me? Yes! I accept your offering! The King of Demons is back!" King celebrates following by a bellowing laugh.
