"It's difficult, really." He said, "To have saved her only to really see her fall."

"And its difficult," He started again, "To see how many people don't know. How it affects very few people."

"So please, today of all days, bear with me and forgive my irritableness."

"Of course I will. I always do." His best friend told him.

"No, today is different. Today, someone I love, someone I saved, today, a year ago today, They lost their life in the worst way imaginable. And there's no way I can explain it to you. Because I know as much as you want to help, you can't. You can't even understand it. I'm so sorry. I'm so sorry"

"Hey, hey, it's okay. I'm very surprised you can even function today" His best friend soothed him.

"We're lucky. I didn't expect to be able to."

"You're rather calm?"

"Breaking on the inside."

"Oh."

Silence set in. The boy sat together quietly. No more words exchanged. Just looks. Comforting ones from his best friend, and sad ones from him.
