I put my robes back on even though I was still sopping wet from the springs and went into the manor. I really didn't want to have the cloth sticking to me but if I didn't come when that annoying woman called, she would cause a racket. Call me a weirdo, but Hepzibah-mahila reminded me a lot of my stepmother but far less superior and half as good looking, and even though she was annoying, her shrill and overly audacious manner gave me a small sense of peace that I hadn't felt in ages. She was still horrible and I hated seeing her every time I did, but I just imagined her as Nyx-bao and I could tolerate her for far longer than normal.
I stepped into the greeting area and Hepzibah-mahila made a face at me.
"Why are you sopping wet?"
"I just came from the hot spring. You sounded like you needed me urgently..."
"Yes, yes, I did. We got a letter back in response to our request!" she said, looking happy.
I lifted an eyebrow. "Why do you look excited?"
"Because it's someone who will help us track down the werewolf, of course."
She handed me the rolled up parchment and I went to open the seal when I knew immediately who the sender was. I frowned but opened up the letter and pretended to read. Fuck, this was bad...
"Isn't that just wonderful news? Now you don't have to train as hard and you'll be able to spend some more time with Mummy." She said, coming up and hugging me tightly, rubbing her face all over me.
I tried not to look completely grossed out and patted her back in a friendly manner.
"Yes, uh... great. When will they be here?"
"Silly boy, didn't you just read the letter? Here, let Mummy refresh your memory. We sent word out this morning with a delivery spell and this was the first one back-"
"My love! My Hepzibah, darling!" Lorado-uba yelled, running into the room. "We have guests!"
"Guests?" we both said at the same time.
"Yes! Instead of replying by letter, they actually sent wielders to help us out! Such generosity!"
"Is it normal for those accepting guests to just leave them at the door like common beggars?" a young woman's voice echoed through the house.
"He was just excited." Another young woman said, her voice softer and less harsh than the first.
Hepzibah-mahila glared at her husband. "You didn't even lead them here properly?"
Lorado-uba looked horrified and I rolled my eyes as the two people came in and I felt my heart drop. This was worse than the ones in the letter. The pristine outfits, the stark white cloth, the belts that looked like moonbeams were cut into ribbons and wrapped around their waists... Hepzibah-mahila's eyes got big with excitement and she gave a large smile to the two young women that had walked in. I could barely look at the two of them because their wings were practically emitting their own light due to their purity and elegance, pure white and bright ass green.
"Welcome, wielders from the Moon Clan." Hepzibah-mahila said, giving a bow.
The young ladies returned it, looking as graceful as ever as they did. I felt myself starting to step backwards away from them when Hepzibah-mahila grabbed my arm and made me bow as well. I made a face and quickly put my hand on my chest to make it formal.
"Thank you for your hospitality, Duvam-mahila. My name is Raijin-shou and this is my wielding partner, Jiang-Ahyra."
I looked up, only realizing after the honorific that the one girl had very light yellow hair instead of the usual stark white of the Moon Clan. I turned my head and stood up.
