It's been 3 months since Jinathik's imprisonment.
Gabriel looked at himself in the mirror, his white and gold outfit shining.
He walked out of his room, hearing the fanfare start.
He stared down as he walked down the stairs, his heart pounding.
4 royal knights joined him, walking him into the throne room.
The entire room was decorated in white and gold, which must have been half the kingdom sitting, staring at him as he entered.
He smiled as he noticed Lillian sitting with her girlfriend Diane.
He walked, the fanfare stopping as he reached the throne, turning.
Dreken stepped out from behind a curtain, clearing his throat.
"For 23 years, you, Gabriel Sio Rene, have blessed this kingdom with your light.
Every day Queen Olleris' light has shown through you.
Although our kingdom has had dark days, under your rule, we put you as our beacon, leading us from those dark days.
In the name of our ancestors and the Kingdom Reveer, I crown you as our king, and ruler.
He slowly lowered his father's crown onto his head, Gabriel turning to face the crowd.
"I present to you, King Gabriel of Reveer."
The crowd applauded, the bards starting to play.
It was sure to be a night of celebration.
As the crowd started to make their way to the ballroom, Gabriel turned, hugging Dreken.
"Thank you for everything, Dreken. Truly."
Dreken laughed, hugging him tightly.
"Of course, your majesty. Now, your people are waiting for you."
Gabriel walked down from the throne, looking over his shoulder.
"Dreken?"
The knight nodded.
"Yes, my Lord?"
"...Where is Riland? I just...figured he would be here for my coronation."
A curtain in the corner shifted, Riland standing up.
He had been behind the curtain the whole time.
He was out of his armour, instead wearing a white and gold suit tailored to fit him.
He smiled at Gabriel's shock.
"I was here. I just didn't want to distract anyone from your coronation.
A lot of the subjects have never seen me without my helmet before."
Gabriel ran over, hugging Riland as he kneeled down.
"I'm so glad you got to be here!"
Dreken smiled, leaving the room to join the celebration.
Gabriel lovingly looked up at Riland, smiling.
"...This is the start of something amazing. And I hope, you will stand by me to see my kingdom change for the better, and remain my personal guard?
....only If you wish!"
Riland held his hand, smiling.
"I wouldn't have it any other way."
They softly kissed, before heading to the celebration.
This was indeed the start to something amazing.
