Melanie's Pov

College Graduation was the best day of a student life, the happiest day we spend with all of our loved ones, friends, family. People who were dating, some boys even propose to their girlfriends and make the day even more magical and memorable.

For me I was honoured as the honourable student of the university, so I got a gold medal along with certificates, everyone stood up and bowed to me while on stage. Graduation was also the proudest moment for a parent to see his child growing and succeeding in life. Seeing me on stage as a honourable student, I could see my mother with tears of joy, she was so proud of me, it was because of her I am like this because she made it possible for me to study MBA in Oxford with so much diffuculty as a single mom, yeah dad passed away when I was very small, no memory of him. But I will always be there for my mother no matter what.

"Mel we did! College over"Tara my bestfriend squealed hugging me after we all graduates finished our convocation. Tara was a beautiful blonde girl who was very insecure even if she shouldnt be, she thinks she's ugly and all that she's not. Actually I think that about me too so I cant tell about her. Thats why we're bestfriends, we knew each other right from school.

"I know I cant believe this is over and you're moving to the US."I said pouting and she also whined hugging me.

"I know, crazy how time flies. Hey dont worry we will keep in touch promise?"She said and I nodded shaking my hand with hers.

"Call me everyday"I said and she smiled.

"And Skype, Facetime..."Tara said and we giggled. Before we could say something her parents as well as my mother came to hug us so happily like the proudest parents.

"Our baby girls grown up, ready to face the world"Tara's father said happily, they were all so happy, they had that smile nothing could swipe it off their faces.

"Your father will be so proud of you my baby"Mom told me rubbing my shoulder and I kissed her cheek.

"Yes mom, he 's watching up there but if I am what I am today its because of you Mother for putting me in this university. So thank you mom for everything"I said to my mom removing my graduation hat from my head and put it royaly on Mom's head and she smiled at me with small tears of joy squeezing me in her arms. Tara and her parents awwed at us.

"So Melanie where would like to work now? You could get into any company you want very easily you know"Tara's mother ask me as we were leaving the auditorium together since our houses were next to each other. Honestly I had no clue where I would work, I'd like to be maybe an executive manager or something, maybe a CEO but I cant be one just after graduating right?

"I dont, I'll just apply in many companies and we'll see which one picks me"I said and they nodded.

"You're going to be picked by many companies Mel so choose properly, this is your life you know right?"Tara told me and I nodded.

I hope I get the dream job.

"But wont be that nice without you though"I said looking at my bestfriend and she caringly cups my face.

"We'll keep in touch girl dont worry. I'll always be there for you, wherever we are"Tara said and I nodded.

"I love you"I said.

"I love you crazy girl"Tara said and now we got in our respective cars, Mom started driving us home, I sat next to her and waved Tara and her family bye for the last time because she will be heading to the airport for the US now.
