"Mom!!! You can't just ask me to pack up and leave with you just like that, I'm no longer a kid, I started making friends here and I like them. I'm tired of just leaving with you when you say so, if I'll leave then I need to know why" Ryan said as he got off bed to stop his mom from packing his clothes into a traveling bag. "You don't understand son, I just want to keep you safe, I'm only doing all these for you baby, please just pack up and leave with me quietly, Laura said as she looked at Ryan with an appealing eyes.

"No mom, I'm not going to do that, this is all you ever say, I need to know how running away from something I don't even know keeps me safe, explain to me in details please.Come on mom, I'm a man now I think I deserve to know whatever secrets you're keeping from me, especially when it seems to be about me, Ryan said in response. Laura sighs as she goes to hold Ryan in his hands and take him to sit with her on the bed, she was very reluctant and tears dropped down her cheeks as she looked at Ryan and spoke.

"You remember the man you met in the house on Saturday? He's your father's brother (Kendrick) and there's something that has been passed down to the men in your father's family.Your dad was obsessed with it and it led to his death, I'm scared that if I allow you mix with people like Kendrick you might end up like your father and I don't want that to happen.So whenever they find out where we live I always made sure we left before they could even notice we were gone.

"What was passed down my Dad's family, was it that we have purple eyes, grow fangs, run fast and have enormous strength?" Ryan asked, Laura stood up looking so shocked and asked "Did all these happen to you already? I thought the powers didn't come until 21, you're still 3years away from that.Oh My God, this is more reason why we need to leave Ryan. She looks at her son and uses her eyes to plead with him but he didn't look into her eyes because he didn't want to be bewitched by it. He stood up and said "Mom I'm not leaving with you, I'm tired of running and whatever it is that I am I want to face it".

"Today's Tuesday mom, in case you might have forgotten and I have to catch the bus for school so I don't get late, Bye mom and thanks for trying to protect me but I want to live my life well without having to leave and transfer from schools all the time" he added as he left his mom in his room. He plugged his EarPods and played "Goodbyes by Post Malone". Laura didn't know what to say anymore that she just watched him leave quietly. She sat back on the bad and kept silent while folding his clothes and dropping them back in wardrobe.

It wasn't the best day for Ryan but he was still happy that he didn't leave all he had become in this school and start all over at a new school. He was finally at school, he greeted a few people in the hall as he passed by and went straight to class to attend lectures. Rochelle was already in class and he approached her and said "Hi ma'am" as he sat beside her, "What? I don't see no old lady around here so who are you referring to?" She said as she smiled and turned to look at him.

"Alright then maybe you'll prefer I call you short girl, and don't worry I'll only call you that when we're alone I don't want nobody calling you that except me" Ryan said and she just smiled and they both just went silent for a minute then Rochelle broke the silence by saying "I don't know if it was just me but I wished we didn't have to stop talking yesterday. It was just fun and was the first time I had a conversation like that since my last relationship".

"Well I can assure you that it's a mutual feeling, I really enjoyed talking to you, and maybe we could go home together from now on if Ruby wouldn't think I'm snatching her walking partner from her though" Ryan said as he excused himself from the conversation. He walked towards Diana ,"Hi there" you look good today, yeah I wanted to let you know I'm not offended in anyway and I'm just happy that you're fine, also if they ever come back to disturb you let me know so I can give them more beating". Diana smiled and replied him "Thanks so much for your looking out for me but I'm fine".

She gets up and leaves him after she said her part and he was really confused on how weird she acted to him, he stared at her as she left but noticed her facial expression changed as she opened the class door to go out. She started gasping and walked back with fear written all over her face, she screamed and got attention to her self, everyone in the class immediately turned and looked at her, Ryan ran towards her to see what was going on and he was shocked with what he saw that he fell on the ground and started gasping too, he managed to stand up and he lifted Diana up and dragged her back.

Rochelle stood up from her chair in response to the chaos in class and also walked towards the door to check what was going and she gave the same reaction everyone else did but she managed to shut the door and lock it after few seconds, they all tried to catch their breath as they couldn't believe what was happening in the school's hall, they couldn't even speak for more than 5minutes until Ryan spoke up and said "We can't just sit here and wait for those things out there to catch up with us we need to run now!!"

He grabs Diana and walked towards the door but stopped when he noticed Rochelle wasn't following, he let go of Diana and went to snap Rochelle out of the shock she was in ,"You need to get it together, we are all as shocked as you are but we need to run now that we can". She finally snaps out of it and walked with him, he held Rochelle and Diana and walked towards the door, brought the door open and ran while holding the two of them, there was so much to see.

Diana couldn't hold it, she stopped at a point and started vomiting but Ryan immediately took her hand and they continued running, they made it outside the hall but the scene was worse, Ryan noticed one of the lecturer's car keys were inside the car and he immediately brought the door open and asked the girls to get in, he kick started the car and was about to drive off when a bloody hand suddenly appeared on the mirror of the car and there was screams of a boy saying, "help me!!! Help me!!!" They were so scared but Ryan looked out and saw it was Armstrong.

He attempted to open the door but just before he could, he noticed Armstrong was being dragged away and dangerous, bloody things were being done to him, he resisted but thought to himself that the safety of those with him were more important so he shut the Lexus's door and drove off with two very frightened girls at the backseat.(To be continued)
