Can we say a good divorce?

The day after...

Vera woke up first. She realized that she was in her bed...with Patrick. She, then, thought that Patrick woke up in the middle of the night when they were sleeping on the floor and put Vera on the bed and same for him.

Vera got up and went to the little bathroom - in her camping car - brush her teeth and did her morning routine - she wasn't hungry -. After that, she needed to change her mind about last night and went back in her "room" and read her favorite book waiting for Patrick to wake up.

When Patrick finally did, he looked at Vera who was still reading and seen that she's been crying for a while...

He get out of the bed and went sitting next to her. Vera raised up her big ocean eyes into Patrick's and hugged him. They stayed like that for a couple of minutes. Feeling free of crying again into each others arms.

Vera finally broke the silence and said to Patrick... continuing crying...

« You know I had time to think a lot about all of this and... - pause - don't you think it's strange that... y-you know... Renn called and just after your wife called... I mean don't you think the same thing as me? »

Patrick wiped out Vera's tears of her rosy cheeks.

But he knew what Vera was talking about and she was totally right and he had thought the same too.

After a long discussion, again, Patrick announced that they should re-call them and tell them that they're not stupid and that they know...

Vera called her - almost - ex-husband first.

« Hi Renn, - she was trying not to cry - you know Patrick and I »

He cut her.

« Yeah! You see! That's the thing Vera! Patrick and you! »

« What! »

« You've been so close with Patrick this whole time that I thought that you were cheated on me! And Patrick's wife thought the same! »

Vera couldn't believe it. She was so frustrated and confused.

« OK! So that gave you the right to cheat on me Renn! Without thinking about the kids! Without thinking of anything except you! I know that you slept with Patrick's wife and he knows it too so you can tell to your little new girlfriend that she AND YOU can both go to Hell!! »

«Vera calm d...»

She hung up.

Her whole body was shaking... and she started crying again. She thought she had cry everything that she could but she guessed that no she didn't.

Patrick hugged her. Telling her that everything was gonna be alright.

Vera didn't want to admit it but staying in Patrick's arms like that made her feel better. And she believed everything he said to her... She loved being in his arms. She loved when he was comforting her, telling her good things like if it was a lullaby.

But now she got it. Renn did that to her because he thought that Patrick and her were too close but nothing ever happened between them too. Nothing.

Vera was thinking about so, so much questions in her head. But she knew that she would  never have the change to speak them up.

Why didn't he trust her?
Why did he thought that? He knew Patrick and he knew he loved his wife.
Was that only an excuse?
Did it happen more than once?
Did it happen when Vera was home and he told her that he was going somewhere but he was actually going to her place?
But where would have been Patrick then?

What will happen with Patrick? They both know that they love each other but it just couldn't happen 'cause they were married... but now...?
Will he ask her out?

No... She had to stop...

Vera was so confused and she was going crazy thinking about every little thing that she could...

But she was there. In Patrick's arms. Crying.

Thinking... maybe Patrick loves me...?

Maybe he will always stay by my side whatever happens...

Hi! I hope you liked it and thanks for reading it! I think I will write another chapter and after that I'll move on for something knew (you have no clue how many ideas I have 😭). To clear things up, Vera's husband and Patrick's wife didn't cheat on them ok it's just for the story. Sorry if there's some mistakes, English isn't my first language but French is. If you have some ideas  you can always write them in this comments!
