"Son! Wake up! Son!" Mom slapped me. I was struggling, thrashing on the bed. The gang was around me, and I could see the girls crying in fear.

Susan and Martha assisted Aether and Micah, respectively, as they appeared to be short of breath after crying too much.

"What happened?" Mom asked, worry in her eyes.

"I.. was almost eaten," I whispered, and I can vividly remember the lion closing its huge maw while the cobra was holding me in place.

"What do you mean?" Mom said, "Here, drink some water first"

Aether ran into me, hugged me, and said, "Why haven't you told me it was this serious?! Why keep it from me?!"

"Hey, calm down. It's not like I'm dying, literally," I said, gulping down the water. "I'm fine, don't fret about it."

As I scanned the room, I could see all my friends and the team either showing concern on their faces or worry.

"I'm fine, everyone. Go back to sleep"

"No" I turn around and see Micah closing in, sitting beside Aether. "We're staying here with you"

"Suit yourselves. Martha, can you pleeease get me some Apples? Thank you"

"Sur-" Martha was cut off by the two girls, blurting out at the same time, "I'll do it!"

Aether and Micah stared at each other. I can't seem to notice the fire burning in their eyes, ready to burn any foes they face with their wrath.

"Son, have I ever told you how handsome you are?"

"No, Mom. But why are the others starting to exit the room?" I asked as I could see Martha, the boys, and the others scurrying out of the room.

"Can I slap you one more time, son?" She said, as she smiled really wide at me.

I held my cheeks with my hands and told Mom, "Geez, Mom, I'm awake already. What for?"

"Hey, dude. I thought you wouldn't float on water because your density is too high," Rick said as we were swimming in the Lagoon.

"What do you mean?" I asked. I can swim just fine. I wouldn't have won a freediving competition, you know if I couldn't swim," I said while I showed him how to dive.

"He's a genius, but how come he's so dumb, too?" Bamboo asked, shaking his head as he munched on the fruit bowl he ordered for us.

"You shouldn't keep this kind of thing from me," Aether said, her eyes visibly swollen. "Why? We've been together for years. Am I too much for you to handle?"

"No, it's just that I know how busy you are. And I couldn't bring myself telling you about these nightmares." I replied as I arranged our bows and quivers before going to the archery range.

"Couldn't bring yourself? Wow. What am I to you, Mr. Know-it-all?" Aether said, gritting her teeth. "I'm worried! I'm dead worried, and you just keep pushing me away!"

"Okay. I'm sorry, Aether. I promise I'll try my best to share some of the stuff with you. " Geez, what's wrong with her today?

In another room, I got another mouthful from Micah

"So that's why the dark circles under your eyes?"

"Yes," I told her, "But I'm fine, really. I try to handle it myself"

"You try? Why not ask for help? You can always tell me this kind of thing, you know," Micah said, trying her best to look me in the eye. "I treat you as a friend, you big ugly pig. Treat me the same, will you?"

Was that an insult, brat? Why are you crying, though?

"Okay, okay. Geez. What's wrong with you and Aether? You keep making me do things I'm not used to doing"

"Just do it!" I heard the phrase twice today from both of them.

"Hmp." Micah turned around, but I couldn't see the grin on her face.

Two large blobs of white suddenly went inside my heart, fighting over control with the black mass inside me. There was some sort of struggle, but if I could see what they looked like, I would be shocked. The blobs have two figures of women reflected inside them, both of which I am very familiar with.

"Gather round folks, make sure everyone is accounted for!" Arthur started the roll call.

"The three Mrs Crawfords, step up," Rick said, looking serious.

"What three, Mrs. Crawfords? Shut up, Rick," I told Rick as I assisted my Mom in climbing the van. I could hear snickers and giggles behind my back, though.

"If I hear anyone else giggling, I'll rip your tickets to pieces!" I told them, as I was suddenly in a bad mood.

Inside me, the black mass is still struggling for dominance, and two blobs, one line, and two dashes of white are fighting it.
