STILL AT THE LIBRARY

In the dimly lit library, Y/n and Jimin sat on opposite sides of a long, oak table, their eyes shooting daggers at each other. The hushed whispers of other students studying nearby filled the air, creating an uneasy tension. They had successfully finished their book stacking duties after an hour of continuous work.

Jimin, with his stoic expression, flipped through the pages of a textbook, seemingly unfazed by the atmosphere. Y/n, on the other hand, tapped her pen impatiently against the table, glaring at Jimin.

The librarian cast a stern look their way, a warning against any disturbance. Y/n decided to break the silence.

"You know, you're insufferable," she hissed, unable to contain her frustration.

Jimin glanced up, a hint of boredom in his eyes. "Likewise."

As the minutes ticked by, the animosity between them simmered beneath the surface. Y/n couldn't focus on her book, her thoughts consumed by the injustice of being stuck in detention with Jimin.

"What's your problem, anyway?" Y/n finally snapped, unable to contain herself.

Jimin sighed, closing his textbook with a deliberate thud. "Why do you even care?"

"I don't! But I'd like to survive this detention without losing my sanity."

Their argument escalated, echoing through the library's quiet shelves. Unbeknownst to them, the librarian shot them another disapproving look.

Suddenly, a realization dawned on Y/n. "You're just as miserable about being here as I am, aren't you?"

Jimin's icy demeanor wavered for a moment, revealing a flicker of annoyance. "I don't know what you're talking about."

Y/n leaned back, a sly grin forming on her face. "You're a terrible liar, you know that?"

A rare hint of frustration flashed in Jimin's eyes, but before he could respond, the librarian intervened with a stern warning to keep the peace.

Reluctantly, Y/n and Jimin returned to their respective studies, the library returning to its quiet ambiance. Yet, beneath the surface, a curious connection lingered, in the strangest way, they were both stuck in this together.

1 HOUR LATER:

As Y/n walked back to the dorms after detention, the evening air was thick with tension she couldn't quite grasp while her body was aching really hard for the extra exhaustion that day. She found Taehyung waiting in the living room, a warm smile lighting up his face.

"Hey, Y/n! How was detention?" Taehyung greeted her, his friendly demeanor a stark contrast to the lingering unease.

Y/n chuckled, "Detention wasn't too bad, actually. Jimin and I survived without killing each other."

Taehyung's eyes twinkled with amusement, "Surviving detention with Jimin is no small feat. You've got guts."

The conversation flowed effortlessly, but little did Y/n know that a storm was brewing beneath the surface. As she entered the dorm, Jungkook's expression darkened, a scowl etched across his face.

"Y/n, can we talk?" Jungkook's voice was tight with frustration.

Perplexed, Y/n nodded, "Sure, what's up?"

Jungkook's gaze shifted to the mention of Jimin. "I don't like that you spent detention with Jimin."

Y/n raised an eyebrow, "Why? Did I miss something? You and Jimin seem to have some history."

Jungkook's jaw clenched, his gaze guarded. "Let's just say Jimin and I don't get along. It's better if you stay away from him."

Taehyung, sensing the tension, interjected gently, "Guys, can't we all just get along? Y/n is new here, and I'm sure there's a misunderstanding."

Jungkook sighed, his protective instinct evident. "Just be careful, okay?"

Y/n, still unaware of the underlying history, nodded, "Alright, if you say so."

As she left the room, a lingering sense of confusion and tension remained. Little did Y/n know, the dynamics among her friends were more complex than they appeared, and the shadows of past grievances cast long shadows over their present interactions.

SOME TIME LATER:

Later that evening, Y/n found herself alone with Jungkook in the dorm's common area, the air still uneasy. Even though things were kind of awkward between the both, their close relation made it a lot easier to freely talk to him and express herself better. She hesitated for a moment before breaking the silence.

"Hey, Jungkook, can I ask you something?" Y/n inquired, her expression curious.

Jungkook looked up from his book, his guard momentarily dropping. "Sure, what's on your mind?"

Y/n bit her lip, choosing her words carefully. "I couldn't help but notice there's some tension between you and Jimin. Mind telling me why?"

Jungkook's eyes flickered, a brief moment of discomfort crossing his features. He sighed, closing his book and setting it aside. Without a word, he pulled Y/n into a gentle hug.

Surprised, Y/n stammered, "Uh, Jungkook, what's this for?"

Jungkook's voice was soft, almost vulnerable. "I just don't want you getting involved in unnecessary drama. Jimin and I... we have a complicated history. It's better if you stay out of it."

"And plus it's mainly because we never really clicked, you know. Different personalities, I guess." He spoke, chuckling softly.

Y/n, feeling the sincerity in Jungkook's embrace, relaxed into the hug. "Okay, but if there's ever something you want to share, I'm here."

Jungkook held her for a moment longer before pulling back, a small smile playing on his lips. "Thanks, Y/n. Let's not dwell on it too much, alright?"

Despite the lingering tension, the hug became a silent reassurance—a gesture that spoke volumes about the complexity of their relationships and the unspoken history that Y/n had yet to fully uncover.
