Y/N POV:

I was finally starting to get tired. It's been around 3 hours at this party, and the entire time I was stuck in this tight, black dress that wasn't the most comfortable thing to wear around. Summing everything up, I would say I spent half the time talking with my friends and meeting new people, eating snacks whenever I had the chance, and getting caught up in a very awkward situation with Jimin.

As I was vibing to the music and nodding my head, moving with the beat, I found myself face to face with Jackson Wang—charismatic, with a smile that felt like an invitation. I've seen him a couple times around the hallways and everything, but haven't really talked to him yet.

"Hey there! I'm Jackson. We've never properly met, have we?" he said, a twinkle in his eye.

"Y/n. Nice to meet you, Jackson," I replied, his friendliness melting away any awkwardness. His looks weren't the only thing that caught my attention; it was the ease with which he made the party feel like a casual hangout.

As the night unfolded, we sidestepped the chaos, landing in a quiet corner that seemed to invite honest conversations. "So, Y/n, what's your story? Any wild tales from your journey?" Jackson leaned in, genuinely intrigued.

I was surprised he wanted to know more about me but started to spill the beans about my chaotic life. "Um, I don't really know where to start," I chuckled, " Well I'm new to Harvard as I just joined a month ago. I spent my entire life living in Australia. Let's just say the past two years haven't been the best for me, so I decided to move here for a fresh start," I ended off. We talked a little more and he reciprocated with stories that had me laughing till my sides hurt. There was something about the way he spoke, a contagious enthusiasm that turned the silence into a captivating narrative.

"Your adventurous spirit is magnetic, Y/n," he said, a glint of playfulness in his eyes. "Any hidden talents or hobbies you haven't shared yet?"

"Oooh yes! I mean, I don't wanna flex or anything but I have a black belt in taekwondo, so yeah I love martial arts, boxing, and karate," I said smiling innocently.

"Wow Ms.Y/n! Looks like you might be stronger than me!" He winked and smiled.

We bantered, exchanging tales of odd hobbies and quirky skills. The party noise faded, leaving just us in our little bubble of shared laughter and anecdotes. Jackson's charm was infectious, making the whole conversation feel like a spontaneous talk.

As the night aged, he suggested, "Why don't we grab some drinks? It's quieter there, and we can chat without the crowd." I nodded, and we strolled to the makeshift bar, sharing more tales over the clink of glasses.

We jumped into talking about friendships casually. I told him how I thought making friends seemed incredibly difficult because of my late admission, but soon things eased.

"Jisoo, Jungkook, and Taehyung are my dorm mates and are inseparable now! We've formed an unspoken bond just being friends," I smiled finishing off my sentence.

"Sounds like you've found your tribe," Jackson remarked, nodding in understanding.

A/N POV

The dialogue wove its way through the ebb and flow of conversation, and Y/n hesitated before broaching the subject of Jimin. She thought she could share the not-so-great encounters with Jimin to Jackson since he seems genuinely friendly.

"Do you know Jimin?" Y/n asked cautiously, her gaze flickering with a mix of curiosity and uncertainty. "I mean, considering that you guys are in the same department, I figured you would?" Y/n spoke.

Jackson's expression shifted, his brows furrowing in thought. "Jimin? Yeah, he's my dorm mate! We go way back. I've known him since high school and I would say we're pretty good friends! But, honestly, he's always been a bit reserved, a bit cold, you know?"

Y/n's intrigue deepened. "Always like that?"

Jackson nodded. "Yeah, Jimin's a complex guy. He's not one to wear his emotions on his sleeve. It might seem like he's being cold, but that's just how he is. He's been that way since I've known him."

Y/n offered a wry smile. "Well, I've certainly felt the chill."

Amidst the friendly banter, Jackson casually slipped in, "Hey, Y/n, would you mind if I got your number? This has been fun, and I'd love to continue our chats."

His request was met with a smile, and in that simple exchange, the party felt like the beginning of a new chapter—one written in laughter, shared stories, and a number saved in each other's phones.

TIME SKIP- 2 HOURS LATER
Y/N POV

Late at night, the door creaked open, revealing Y/n's fatigued silhouette as she stumbled into the shared apartment. Taehyung and Jungkook, who had returned earlier from the party, were sprawled across the living room in various states of relaxation.

Taehyung, perched on the couch, looked up from his phone with a teasing grin. "Well, well, look who decided to grace us with her presence. How was the party, superstar?"

Y/n sank onto the adjacent couch with an exhausted sigh. "It was something else! You won't believe the night I had."

Jungkook, busy scrolling through his phone, chimed in playfully, "Any declarations of undying love this time, Y/n?"

Taehyung nudged Jungkook with a mischievous smile. "Come on, Kook, we all know Y/n's heart belongs to textbooks and late-night snacks."

After a brief exchange with Taehyung and Jungkook, Y/n excused herself and made her way to her and Jisoo's room.

Inside their room, Jisoo was sitting on her bed, engrossed in a book. She looked up as Y/n entered. "Spill the tea, Y/n. How was the party?"

Y/n began removing her makeup, recounting the events with dramatic flair. "OKAY, SO FIRST, I ACCIDENTALLY SPILLED RED WINE ALL OVER JIMIN'S WHITE SHIRT. It was like a scene out of a Sitcom!! AND GUESS WHAT... HE HAD TO TAKE THE SHIRT OFF TO WASH IT, AND I SWEAR I'VE NEVER SEEN A BATHROOM GET SO AWKWARD SO FAST."

Jisoo burst into laughter. "WHAT!?!?! That IS hella awkward! Anyway, I'm guessing you were gawking at his muscles! Just joking! GWhat else?"

"Well, then I ended up chatting with this amazing guy, Jackson Wang. He's funny, charming, and totally genuine. We exchanged numbers, and guess what? TURNS OUT HE'S JIMIN'S ROOMMATE AND FRIEND."

Jisoo raised an eyebrow, her voice dropping to a teasing tone. "Roommates and friends? That's interesting. Did you get Jimin's number too?"

Y/n shot her a glare. " EWW Jisoo, we hate each other. Why would I get his number?"

Jisoo laughed. "Oh, come on, Y/n. I was just joking around. You know I love to mess with you."

Y/n sighed, the tension in her shoulders easing. "Fine, fine. Don't scare me like that."

Jisoo continued to pry for details, "So, tell me, what happened with Jackson? Any juicy deets?"

Y/n smirked. "Well, he's charming, and we hit it off. But with all honesty, he would make a great friend! Well later, we exchanged some playful banter, and he told me a few interesting stories about Jimin. Apparently, they've been friends since forever."

Jisoo's eyes widened. "No wayyy! What kind of stories?"

Y/n leaned in conspiratorially. "Let's just say Jimin has this unexpected talent for reciting Shakespearean sonnets, and Jackson has a knack for catching him off guard in public."

Jisoo burst into laughter again. "This is gold! We need to exploit this information. Imagine the look on Jimin's face."

The room echoed with their laughter as the night unfolded with the joy of friendship, gossip, and the shared tales of spilled wine.
