I woke up feeling refreshed today, which was a new feeling as I normally woke up scared or still tired. I stretch my limbs out, groaning loudly in the process as my bones popped like popcorn. The sun was just rising, casting a beautiful array of reds and pinks and oranges across the sky. The birds were singing loudly, my window slightly cracked so I was able to hear it. I smiled to myself, dancing around a bit as I got dressed for the day. Once work studies started I would be going to see Nighteye and learn more about the Overhaul case, but I had a few days to just relax and not have to worry about anything.
Hopefully.
I made my way downstairs with a little pep in my step while trying to be quiet since I'm sure everyone else was still sleeping or just now waking up as well. Toshinori and Aizawa stood in the kitchen having coffee together, Mic off to the side as he typed away on his laptop.
I poured myself a cup, taking a seat next to Mic as I pulled out my own phone. It was somewhat silent, Aizawa and Toshinori having their own conversation as I watched Mic type out emails for something. I made my way over to the windowsill I often sat on, staring as the sun rose higher and higher into the sky. The morning traffic started to pick up, the honking sounding distant. I watched as some students left, either for a nice breakfast out or to go visit family.
Shoto was the first friend I saw, him silently sitting across from me on the large windowsill. A towel draped over his shoulders and his hair still slightly wet as we embraced the silence. "I hope you guys pass your remake for the licensing exam." I mumbled as I playfully kicked at his foot.
"I do too."
"I think you guys got this," I ran a hand through my hair, "have faith in yourself. Those kids are assholes." I laughed out loud, causing Shoto to stare at me.
"Kids?"
"Yeah, you have to make these punk ass kids happy. If you can't to that, you'll fail!"
"Jinora! Keep your mouth shut!" Aizawa called to me, making me laugh a little bit harder as I waved him off. "You'll do great, Shoto. Really. I'll root for you!" I said as I crossed my fingers. We fell back into silence as everyone else started to finally make their way downstairs. Katsuki had walked over to me, not even thinking before kissing my forehead. My eyes had widened just a bit, my cheeks burning hot since this was new. I was used to him kissing the top of my head, but not my forehead.
He must have realized too, cause I felt him tense up after a few seconds. He muttered something, I couldn't hear him though. One by one, everyone had gone out for the day. I didn't realize until I was alone in the common area with only my parents again. I sighed, feeling a bit sad I didn't get to do anything too fun today.
Well, until I realized I could just go to work.
I quickly got ready, just making sure my hair was put up and my teeth were brushed. I used my favorite vanilla perfume and slid open my bedroom window. I was pretty high up, thank god for quirks. I put on my suit, getting ready to jump when I realized I would have to tell my parents. Otherwise they might think I am kidnapped. Again.
I groaned heavily, climbing back inside and going downstairs. "I'm going out!" I called as I raced past them, excited to go do something. They didn't even protest, hardly looking up from their phones. I raced out the front gates, swinging around the city as I looked for something to do. I got to the heart of Japan, the streets busier than ever with foot and vehicle traffic as I surveyed the area.
I wish Hawks were here, this would be much more fun if I weren't alone. I'm really just doing my job, which is a lot more boring than doing my job and having fun at the same time. I made my way towards the mall, figuring I could get my favorite coffee from the little cafe inside. As I landed I noticed a few kids from school, swerving out of the way to avoid them.
