Rui POV

"I have to go. My parents are super strict, y'know, if I'm late, they'll be pissed."

"Need a ride?"

After stepping back, Tsukasa looked up at me gratefully. He was happy again. A brief thought crossed my mind about how I had almost lost it, or how I had almost lost him. During the days, I'd see him walk to classes alone and sadly.

I was wrong for leaving him, and now I know. I smiled back at the blond, feeling my heart warm from his gleeful gaze. In response to my question, he nodded and played with the cuffs of his sleeves.

"Yeah. That'd be really nice..! Only if it doesn't burden you, of course." He seemed shy for a moment, a cute contrast to his usual quirkiness.

I shook my head and gently reached out to hold his hand again. "Of course it wouldn't! I don't have anywhere to be, and since you're in a rush, I'll gladly take you."

"Okay, thank you! Let's get going!!"

Tsukasa's house was surprisingly close to my own. We didn't live in the same neighborhood, but it was about a fifteen minute drive away. I kept his location in mind, hoping that one day he'd ask me to pick him up.

Well, that's far in the future. We've just made up, so it's best I didn't bother him. I pulled into the boy's driveway, then stopped the car.

I looked at him.

In a nice way, I felt drawn to his presence. Tsukasa was an absolute joy to be around, and every time I snuck a peek at him, I couldn't help but smile. I've never met someone quite like him. I sighed and unlocked the car.

"Thank you for bringing me home! Is it alright if I message you after I get inside?" He asked.

I lightly chuckled and turned my full attention to the star once he opened the door to exit the vehicle. His expression was nice and soft. "You don't need permission to text me! I'd love to talk to you more, Tsukasa!"

The short boy backed up after giving me a content look, then shut the car door. He waved me a goodbye, then walked up the rest of the driveway. I kept staring to make sure he got inside safely, which he seemingly did.

I stretched my arms out before getting ready to drive back to my own home. And that's that. I suppose I'll wait to see him tomorrow... I'm nervous to ask him to hang out again so soon, so I'll be okay with meeting him at school for now.

I backed out and turned back onto the road, finding my way home. The drive back was nothing too exciting, simply because I was by myself. I was excited to get back and talk to my closest friend, Nene, about my day.

Although I wasn't sure whether or not she was interested in my rants, I'd do it anyway. I got to the house, and quickly made my way to the front door. The breeze was nice and chilly, causing my hair to gently blow in front of my face while I knocked on the door, getting impatient having to wait for long. After a bit, I was welcomed inside by Nene.

She was always the type who'd run home immediately after school, so she was already here. I hope she's okay with me not walking home with her today. I'm sure she understands.

I gave the girl a short smile, and she let me inside. The home was a normal temperature, so I took off my jacket. I didn't want to wear it for longer than I had to.

"So, why'd you come home so late? Went out with someone?" The girl patted my back gently.

I giggled and shook my head. "Nope! I got the honors of driving Tsukasa home, though! I think he forgives me." I looked down at her, my excitement unhidden.

The girl seemed a bit surprised, but joined me in the joyful spirit. "Don't tell me you two kissed..." She teased with a playful disgust on her face.

Instead of getting upset, I felt butterflies. If only we kissed... I grinned to myself. The way the boy held onto me was so surreal, and nobody else had given me that feeling before. His head was lovingly pushed into my chest, just over my heart, too.

"I wish. No kiss, but he hugged me in a really nice way. I can't wait to see him again!"

Nene took my wrist and led me into the living room. She sat me down and scooted a drink over to me. "I'm glad you had fun. A-Actually, I met someone earlier..."
