I watched as Elizabeth was in the backyard with Nicholas as I heard "Jughead?"

I turned my head slightly seeing Archie behind me and approach me and I continued looking ahead.

He began to ask "what are you...oh..."

I scoffed out "the man gave her a horse riding lesson and now he is teaching her stupid sword techniques and archery training. She's stupid to think that she could ever love him. He is a King who is in need of a Queen and she cannot be that because she is already a Queen."

Archie laughed out "oh my god...you're jealous."

I turned to him spitting out "I am not."

He told me "and yet you are."

I repeated "no I am not. But she cannot love him, she's an idiot if she does because she is my wife."

He reminded me "and yet you are the one who made the request of separate rooms so you could invite whatever women during the night to your bed, let the girl have some fun I've barely seen her anywhere in this home since the day of your marriage."

I told him "that is not nearly the same I am her King."

He told me "and she is your Queen, and Nicolas is treating her far better than you had."

I asked him "and when do you care whether or not she was okay!? You had always agreed and been by my side and recently you've been defending her!"

He shouted back "because she is a woman who deserves to be treated right! For once can you put away your own facade and do the right thing for her!?"

I shouted "I never wanted to marry her!"

He laughed out loud "yes and you get to have all the fun Jughead! And yet she? If she dares go against you, you can easily execute her."

I looked at him and he groaned rubbing his temples as he told me "my best friend did hate her, but he wouldn't treat her as if she were not a human being. You could give her that much."

He walked away and I rolled my eyes as I looked back at the pair and turned away to go back to my business.

𝓑𝓮𝓽𝓽𝔂𝓼 𝓟𝓞𝓥

It was night and I had gotten ready for bed. I looked out the pillars of our home looking at the moonlight. I sighed and leaned my head on the pillar looking out and the beautiful grass. It was getting cold and soon enough snow might fall.

Suddenly I heard "Elizabeth?"

I turned my head seeing Nick and I smiled as he smiled back as he approached me "why are you still up?"

I sighed and looked out "the seasons are changing...winter is my favorite, snow falling on the ground, the cold breeze hitting my nose as it turns pink..."

He chuckled at my words and smiled "I noticed that last few days I've been here that you and your husband do not share a room?"

I smiled gently at his words and said "it was arranged and frankly while...I do enjoy the space, I thought my marriage would be...loving. He can choose to do whatever he likes and I will have to accept that."

He sighed and told me "you do not deserve that."

I nodded and said "yeah well...I prefer to be lonely rather than...arguing and seeing him hurt our marriage and me...."

He told me "well I believe you are beautiful... how can the fool dare cheat on you?"

I laughed at his words "we hated each other all our lives and...I don't want to argue anymore, I'm tired of it frankly. But I know that will never happen we both have our reasons for hating one another. Better to be away than argue for something that will not go well."

He told me "I believe you are one of the most beautiful women I've ever met."

I laughed and told him "thank you Nick. I just hope...that if I do bear his child...that once I have them I will not become lonely."

He nodded and I smiled and he approached me closer and said "I may have a proposition?"

I was confused and he said "I am a King, my father has died some time ago. And I am in need of a Queen, perhaps if you ally with my home, you will never have to go through this."

I said "thank you for the offer Nick but I cannot, I'm doing this for my people."

He told me "and with a stronger army and family you will protect your people even more than what that mere fool can do."

I sighed and he held the right side of my face and I gulped.

He held my face and kissed me but I stopped him and said "Nick...I...no this is wrong."

He told me "is it? Is it truly when you have a husband who hates you? Who cheats on you?"

I told him "yes because I'm nothing like him, I will not do that even if he does it a thousand times I will not betray my honor."

He looked at me and I said "I must go, I'm sorry."

I turned away and ran off to my room as I went inside and shut the door quickly as I frowned and leaned my head on the door as I walked over to my bed and laid down as I held one of my pillows and just fell fast asleep.
