Jughead and I went to our son's grave and I kneeled down and fixed his spot.

I set down some flowers as I looked at the tombstone and frowned "my son...may you rest with your family. May they meet you..."

I smiled and kissed my hand and place it on the stone panel as I stood up and Jughead stood at my side and I frowned I reached for his hand and he held mine and I looked at him and he smiled and I smiled back.

It was now two months since our son passed, we've been taking things slower.

Thankfully he understood that I haven't felt good.

We were having a picnic near the grave as I smiled and asked him "has your father said anything?"

He frowned and shook his head and I sighed.

I told him "he will come around. I'm sure he is deeply as heartbroken as our families."

He nodded and I held his hand and said "let us eat?"

He nodded and we began our small picnic.

When we had returned home that's when we had seen his father there and Jughead had said "father? You didn't tell us you were coming."

He approached us saying "I had heard of my grandson..."

I gulped and he smirked "which of the two of you made the decisions?"

I looked at Jughead and blurted out "I did. I said to save both of us. And...only I survived."

He looked at me and said "how could you be so stupid?"

I looked at him and he said "my heir! My one heir! A son! A rightful heir to the throne! And you just allowed the child to be killed! Why did you kill my grandson!"

I clenched my teeth and said "it was not an easy decision to make. I did not want Jughead to suffer. He is much more of a man than you are and he respected my choices."

He laughed at me saying "you are so stupid, god why did I agree with your father to this stupid marriage! Just for you to kill my grandchild!"

That's when Jughead shouted "enough!"

Jughead pushed me back as I said "do not..."

He told his father "I told the physician to save the two. Elizabeth told the physician to save the child, let her die. But I wouldn't let that happen."

He looked at Jughead and said "you had one job! Conceive an heir to the throne! All we needed was an heir! She could be dead and yet our kingdom could have a future! Perhaps all the children she has now after will be dead just like her first!"

I turned away as Jughead said "you are despicable! Stop speaking like that to your Queen! I am your King but I am also your son! She is the Queen but she is also my wife! Do not shame for myself making a decision that was selfish but needed. I am not you father, I am not you where I will force my wife to do what I would like, mother is a good person, thankfully she didn't become sour like you. Elizabeth is my wife and I will do everything in my power to ensure I have her for the rest of my life. We are both heartbroken about what occurred! Do you know what it's like!? You have never lost a child because after I was born you were finished! Betty and I will try again one day when she is ready, I am no longer going to be belittled by a man who has no honor. I will conceive a child with Elizabeth when she is ready. I will not force her into doing so. So don't you dare speak about her in such a way again or believe me father you do not want to see what I can become if I think like you."

He stared at us and Jughead held me back as his father scoffed and shook his head.

"Elizabeth will not kill our children, this was simply an error of our own poor choices: but other than that she has been a healthy, perfect person. There is no other woman I would want to have my child or any of my other children."
Jughead informed his father.

Jughead demanded "now leave. We are not accepting any guests, guards ensure no uninvited guests are allowed in!"

They nodded and escorted his father away as I smiled at Jughead.

He turned to me and saw me and said "y-you're smiling..."

I smiled bigger at his response and said "I'm proud of you..."

He looked at me and said "for what?"

I laughed and held his face "for standing up to your father."

He told me "I wasn't going to let you take the blame."

I caressed his face and told him "and that is what my mother said is perfect for a marriage. You will do everything you can to protect one another."

He smiled back at me as I leaned in and kissed him, he gripped my waist pulling me closer as I smiled and pulled away as he apologized "I'm sorry...I got handsy."

I laughed and said "it is all fine..."

He smiled and I smiled back "our son would be proud of you..."

He frowned and I did too. "He's okay, his end was quick. At least he knows that...he had two parents who loved him and would protect him and one another."

I stared into his blue pearl eyes, "I love you Jughead Jones...and I will never leave you."

He looked at me as I held his neck and kissed him again as he held the back of my head and kissed me back.
