Caera Denoir POV
Three days have passed since I left Dicathen and returned to Alacrya. The tempus warp we used brought us to an underground base that was set up under Sehz-Clar, Seris's domain. This way, we had easy access to Seris and could help her if Agrona found out she was part of the rebellion.
So far, the rebellion has been a well-kept secret, quietly building its members from the shadows. However, we still weren't at the capacity we needed to be to wage war against Agrona. That's why we needed to gain the support of the High Bloods to help us in freeing Alacrya by giving us more manpower. I knew it could be difficult with how proud they were, but with Sevren, it could be possible.
Thoughts about what we needed to do today lingered in my mind as I stared at my reflection in the bathroom mirror. Taking a deep breath, I removed the towel I was using to dry my hair after getting washed up and out of the bathroom into my bedroom. My bedroom was simple, with a queen-sized bed, black painted brick walls, with black leather furniture. The room took a little getting used to, with it being void of light colors and all, but I eventually did. Plus, it helped that the bed was very comfortable.
I approached the bed where my clothes were laid out and dropped my towel, feeling the room airflow against my bare, damp body. I quickly got dressed and put on my dimensional ring, which contained my sword and the necessary supplies I might need. I walked over to my vanity and sat down. I quickly brushed my hair, grabbed a hair tie, and tied it back into a ponytail. Once ready, I walked over and opened my bedroom door, which opened into the hallway.
"Bah!!"
"Ahh!!" I screamed, jumping back a little in fright from the figure standing in front of my room.
"Hahahhaha!!" Callum burst into laughter while holding his stomach and pointing at me in amusement.
I narrowed my gaze on him playfully yet venomously, "That's not funny, you ass!" I jovially smacked him with an open palm to his chest, trying to get him to stop his stupid laughter.
Callum laughed harder, obviously finding my reaction amusing, "I-It was pretty funny." Callum wiped a tear from his cheek from laughing so hard.
I rolled my eyes, crossed my arms, and looked to the side. "Oh yes, hilarious," I grumbled sarcastically.
Callum's laughter slowly died down, and he looked at me with a playful smile, "Oh, don't pout."
"I'm not," I snapped, looking to the side, refusing to look into his deep golden eyes.
Callum chuckled as he stepped forward. I gave him a side eye as he wrapped his arms around me and brought me into a hug. I kept my arms crossed, constantly reminding myself not to hug him back and act mad. However, the warmth of his hug felt nice, and his smell began to fill my nostrils. A small smile slowly graced my face, thinking how nice it was to finally have Callum back after so long, and I relented. I wrapped my arms around him, returning his hug, leaning my head into his shoulder, feeling totally relaxed in his embrace.
My face felt warm, feeling his warmth and hearing his heartbeat, which I could swear began to beat faster as he held me. I nuzzled my head into his chest, smelling his aroma, which I loved and missed. I was so sure that Callum had died at the hands of the Vritra, and I would never see him again, but I'm glad I was wrong. Growing up, Callum meant so much to me, and I felt like a part of me was missing when he was taken. Now, it feels like I'm complete again.
"I missed you," I said, hugging him a little tighter.
"Awe," Callum teased. I rolled my eyes in annoyance and loosened my hug, intending to let him go.
