Tessia Eralith POV

Opening my bedroom door in the floating castle, I stepped into the hallway.

"Good morning, Princess," A voice said to my right.

Looking toward the voice, my gaze fell on the elven guard Grandpa assigned to me after Art left. The guard was a tall male with a high silver core, brown hair, and green eyes, probably in his mid-thirties. He was dressed in stylish silver elven armor with a black trim.

"Good morning, Percy," I greeted with a smile.

"Do you need something, Princess? I can have the maids bring whatever you need to your room," Percy said, sounding genuinely concerned for me.

I mentally sighed, as Percy has been like this ever since he was assigned to me. I knew it wasn't his fault since Granda ordered him to keep a close eye on me and keep me off my feet as much as possible. I'm sure Grandpa would just keep me locked in my room, tucked in bed, under the heaviest of guard if he could. It took a lot of convincing from Mom, Dad, and me to only be assigned one guard.

"No, that's okay," I said with a smile. "I'm actually going to see my Mom. She's expecting me."

Percy nodded, "Very good, Princess." Percy shifted his body, preparing to follow me. "After you."

Seeing how professional Percy was, my lips curved up in an amused smile. It's probably why Granpa assigned him to me. I began to walk down the hallway and heard the sound of Percy's armor as he began to follow me.

I looked at Percy over my shoulder, seeing him close behind me. His head was constantly turning like it was on a swivel, with his eyes darting around.

I raised a brow, and the corner of my lips raised slightly with amusement, "You don't need to be so on edge, you know. We're in a hallway in the floating castle. I highly doubt we'll be attacked here."

Percy looked at me with a straight face and nodded, "I appreciate the feedback, Princess. But I'll stay vigilant nonetheless. I wouldn't want anything happening to you or your child."

I chuckled and nodded before Percy went back to looking around. I looked back forward with a smile as my right hand subtly rested on my showing stomach. Percy's words echoed in my head, how he would protect me and my child. Shortly after Art left, Grandpa announced my pregnancy. I went to Zestier for a day with my parents, as the citizens held a grand party, congratulating me. Though, it was bittersweet since I couldn't enjoy it with Art.

Percy and I didn't say another word as we quietly made our way down the floating castle halls, eventually arriving at Mom and Dad's room. I knocked on the door, and Percy stood to the side in a protective manner.

"Come in!" Mom's joyful voice sounded from inside.

Opening the door and peeking inside, my eyes scanned the room, which was basically a large one-bedroom apartment. The room had a kitchen, a living room, and a bedroom with a bathroom attached. My eyes fell on Mom, who was sitting at a small coffee table in the living room with some papers in her hand. Three maids were also in the room, two of whom were cleaning some things up, while the third stood beside Mom.

Mom's eyes flicked to me, and a bright smile formed on her face, "Ah, Tessia, good morning!"

The maids walking around immediately stopped what they were doing. They turned to face me, giving a slight bow.

I entered the room, returning Mom's smile, "Good morning."

Percy followed me into the room and closed the door behind me before standing protectively beside it.
