She could barely breathe. Fawn played with her fingers as they sat nicely on her lap, waiting to be called up onto the stage with Caesar Flickerman. After the hovercraft ride and the long wait back to the Capitol, it was a lot to take in that she actually won her game. Fawn, along with several other Capitols and Districts, were shocked. With her score being the lowest of the game, she was thought to be killed off quickly. Her score was just a five, not nearly as high as Buck's, which was an astonishing nine. Fawn had told Buck he should've gotten a higher score due to his strength and strategy. Buck obviously denied it, even saying he should've gotten a lower score than what he received. Her brother has–had always thought little of himself, and she never understood why Buck is–was a fantastic worker who was very dedicated.

"Now, this year's Hunger Games was quite eventful and filled with plentiful action," Caesar Flickerman's voice boomed loudly as it brought Fawn out of her trance. Oh yes, she had forgotten where she was for a moment.

"Maybe more than our lovely Finnick Odair's Game?" Caesar's rhetorical question got answers of 'no's and 'yes's. He just replied with his signature laugh. "Well, we all will just have to agree to disagree, I suppose."

Finnick Odair, he was three games before hers, the youngest to ever win. Fawn had heard his legendary good looks and stellar personality that could win over anyone in the Districts or Capitol. She remembered seeing him during his victory tour; 64th Annual Victory Tour banners were hanging directly behind him. Fawn remembered that day very clearly, and it wasn't due to Finnick's dashing looks and personality but rather because it was her family standing on the podium of the fallen tributes. Shepard Hawke, Fawn and Buck's older brother, just by six years. Shep wasn't even supposed to be in the games that year as his name wasn't called. Unfortunately, Buck's name was called, and Shep volunteered to take his place. Although he wasn't the first to volunteer in District 10, he'll most likely be the last in a while, as it was uncommon to volunteer in the outer districts.

Along with Buck, his size and strength were to his advantage, and he was doing well in the arena, up until he turned his back away just for a quick second, having his back impaled with a trident. Fawn's mother sobbed uncontrollably through the rest of the events in the game, but as Pidge stood on the podium, her face was stone cold, and her back was straight as an arrow could be. Fawn will remember those piercing sea-green eyes staring back at her as he said his sorrowful speech that he most likely remembered off a card.

"Let's welcome this year's winner of the 68th Annual Hunger Games! Fawn Hawke," Caesar Flickerman yelled out as he pointed to the side of the stage. Before stepping out, Fawn took a deep breath.

Win for each other, live for each other.

Her small heels made a clicking sound as she walked to where Caesar was. She waved to the crowd, the crowd whistling and howling as she made her way to the center of the stage. Caesar began doing a small clap as she arrived at where he stood waiting for her to sit.

They both began to sit down, both crossing their knees. Caesar waited for the crowd to die down before he continued talking.

"Fawn, you surprised every single one of us with how you played the games," Caesar began. The word played rubbed Fawn the wrong way, as she is reminded that the Capitol views this gruesome ordeal as just a game. "In all honesty, when entering, did you know you would survive?"

God, are you freaking crazy? I was shitting bricks the whole time in that stupid arena.

"Well, I didn't think I would be able to bathe in warm water again, so I suppose not," Fawn joked around with Ceasar; she smiled and gave a breathy laugh. Caesar cackled laughing as he reached forward to grasp her hand that was resting on her crossed knees.
