The fairy godmother is in her office at Auradon Prep. The conversation with her sister is still on her mind. How could a new book be written? Who would write it? Again, those pages would cause problems like they did years ago.
His mind wandered between several possibilities. If it is being written, who is writing it? Where? Why? Could only her dreams give her answers? It couldn't be, that alone wouldn't help her unravel these mysteries.
"Mom?"
Jane called out to her, who had been there so long that she hadn't even seen the time pass.
" Huh?"
Hearing her daughter call her made her startle.
"Mom, It's already 10 p.m., aren't you going to leave school?"
"Of course, I don't think I've seen the time go by."
(...)
In the Beast's castle, the king pays attention to what he has just heard.
"Mal, what did you say?"
Ben stood up, trying to think of what she had said.
"I said that your request to Evangeline has been granted. I'm pregnant."
She revealed it without much of a smile. In fact, she doesn't even know why she told him that.
"My God! Are you really serious?" Mal nodded, trying to see how difficult it was to understand what she was saying. "Wow, how did you find out? Are you sure?"
"Three days ago, before you left, I just didn't tell you because I wanted to confirm it first." She won't talk about the other incident. This part about breaking into the Museum and the magic mirror between her and Rashid. "Are you happy?"
"Am I happy?" Ben finds himself crying so quickly and easily, but at the same time he's also laughing. "So, was that in Paris a joke?"
"No, definitely not. I really didn't expect that, but I have to accept it now, right?"
She looked down at her stomach.
"There's no need to be afraid, I'm with you." He put his hand on her belly. "It'll be all right, I promise."
"I hope so."
For the first time since she found out, she was "kind of happy" with the news. Seeing Ben happy made her feel good, even if everything inside her still felt confused.
"I want to know everything. Have you been to the doctor? And how is he? Does anyone know?"
He wiped away his tears and focused on her, signaling that they weren't going to sleep anymore.
"Hey, calm down." She laughed at his excitement. "Yes, I went to Clare because Evie sort of pushed me towards her, but I have to go and find a specialist. The boys and Rashid already know."
"Rashid? I thought he was on vacation."
"Long story, but in short, he helped me with something."
"Okay, when you want to tell me, you can. So, I'm going to be a father? Is it real?"
"Yes, King Benjamin."
"I love you too much, Mal."
That fear is still growing, but tonight it subsided when she felt him hug her and his hands rest on her belly. In the morning, the king was expected to be getting ready. She think that she would see him standing there getting ready, but he was sitting on the bed.
"Ben? Ben, are you okay?"
She asks when she sees him sitting there, and even though he's on his back, it looks like the boy is shocked by something.
