"Mal? Nanny said she wants to see me."
The feline man walked slowly into the room.
"Yeah, can we talk?"
"Sure. What do you want?"
Rashid never thought he'd get so close and care so much about someone.
"Rash, I've been thinking about...everything, really." The words still don't come out easily. "Her magic is big, right?"
"Yes."
"And she needs magic as much as I do?"
"Yeah, but you already know all that, so what's the point here?"
"I just wanted to make sure." She closed her eyes, thinking the same thought. "Rash, I know you can't stop her magic, and it will keep growing." She said, smiling and looking down at her belly. "I want to give up my magic then." Mal sacrifices herself for everyone she loves. Giving it up has never been a problem for her. However, she never thought she'd do it for someone she'd never even seen. "Just leave me enough magic for her."
"Mal, no."
Is it strange that the boy from Wonders is crying? Because he is, as well as being scared.
"Yes, just leave me what she'll need until she's born."
"No."
He wanted to get out of there, but was stopped by her.
"Rashid, this is my choice, you know it would be one or the other. I choose her."
"We still have months, let's find a solution."
He would be incapable of accepting something like that. It goes against everything he believes in.
"But what if I don't? This is not some kind of curse or prophecy." She's used to dealing with that, spells have become her specialty. "It's my life and hers, because as much as I'd like to believe that in some book everything that's going to happen is written down, it's not. It's just a fact of life, a terrible trick of hers, but I'm not going to run away."
"Mal, that's not something you just say randomly."
He says, wanting her to say that it's just a joke.
"And I'm not."
"I'm not going to do this.and..."
"Rashid!"

Last chapter....
"No! Not at all, Mal! Are you crazy?"
Rashid rages at her. The cat man doesn't get angry often, but what Mal has said has made him turn red and his feline whiskers return to his face.
"Rashid, listen to me..."
She tries to talk calmly and now without crying.
"Mal, sorry to interrupt, but Ben's been calling for hours."
Evie entered the room, showing her friend her phone with her husband on the line.
That's when she realized she'd been away from home all day. She quickly picked up her cell phone and saw the numerous calls.
"Give me here, Evie."
She asked her friend for her phone
"Talk to Ben, explain everything, then we'll look at your idea."
