Bubba's fingers trembled against the leathery grip of the chainsaw as she laid her eyes upon Johnny's mangled head. She could feel her exasperated breathing exit out of her body, and her heart practically doing so as well. Placing her hand on her chest, she could feel the racing rhythmic beat it palpitated outwardly.

Bubba was unsure of what to make of it. Was it the excitement and cathartic relief of finally ending her tormentor? No, it wasn't quite that.

The sensation and aftermath felt like as any pig she had slaughtered. Sure, there was some guilt to ending those animals, perhaps in the beginning. But at some point a person becomes used to killing the same animal. It becomes...second nature to that person. The numb feeling was something that consumed the entire process of ending a life. And this was no different.

Bubba felt nothing in ending his life, but perhaps she felt something about what's to come after it all. What's left for her? Ending Johnny's life was an urge with no real afterthought, no plan for the future. Would she continue to stay here, still with others who beat down on her? It was the realization that nothing had really changed. She would still be hurt, she would still be alone.

Bubba crudely dropped her chainsaw down onto the floorboards, the loud crash rattling the room. Slicking back her bangs, a shaky sigh slipped out from her mouth. Tucking in her bottom lip, she could feel it all. The sting in her eyes and the hitch in her throat, all elements Bubba was too familiar with.

It was the fear of being scarred again. To endlessly live a life of fear, not knowing when harm will swing towards her way. It was this that brought her to tears.

But Y/n had slowly made her way towards the sobbing girl. But midway through, Jackie grabbed ahold of her hand. Looking back at the brunette, it was clear by her expression that she worried deeply for Y/n's safety. She's been hurt far enough, adding onto that would be too much for her to handle. Nevertheless, Y/n gave a soft smile to the girl, something Jackie always fell weak to.

Jackie: Unfair.

Y/n: (I know)

Jackie let go of her wrist and thus Y/n made her way to Bubba. Amidst all her tears, Bubba could see Y/n. How couldn't she? She was the first person to show her true kindness. It's because of that, that she didn't want to be a bother to Y/n. Desperately wiping away her tears, she stammered out,

Bubba: p-please, don't l-look at me.

Y/n gently placed her hands onto Bubba's face, looking intently at her eyes.

Bubba: a-ah.

Y/n POV:

She was so pretty...

All of her features were soft, especially her eyes. They weren't anything I've seen before, being so meek. Her orbs were a beautiful almond color, such eyes that could make someone who stared at them lost for words. Well...I suppose she made me lose my words.

No POV:

Y/n: (It's okay to cry)
