Aura's POV:

I woke to the sound of an engine humming. My ear was smashed to the ground of a carpeted floor, undoubtedly causing a carpet burn to form on my cheek.

I was groggy and my head pounded like the worst hangover imaginable. I tried opening my eyes, but everything was still black and panic immediately coursed adrenaline through my veins. I was blindfolded.

Out of the corners of my eyes, I could barely make out the soft glow of a dashboard through the blindfold. I could tell I was laying on the floorboard of a vehicle.

I wanted to lift my head; move my body, but it felt like concrete. My limbs didn't want to move with me.

I swallowed hard, realizing I was gagged when I let out a soft whimper, the fear in me refusing to stay quiet any longer.

Whoever was sitting overtop of me reached down, pinching my chin and cheeks hard between their fingers, turning my head to assess my consciousness.

"Hand me another dose, she's waking up." The gruff voice grumbled.

Seconds felt like an eternity as I couldn't move or fight. I couldn't escape or even see the danger in front of me. I felt utterly helpless and vulnerable to the attack.

I whimpered again in protest, gripping down on the cloth in my mouth as hard as I could muster with what little strength I could which seemed like nothing at all.

I felt the man's hand tug hard at my pants, exposing my thigh before a sharp pain and burning hot sensation replaced it there. My mind was running wild with panic. What was I injected with? Are these people working for Him?

I felt the tears brimming in my eyes once more, moistening the cloth fabric tightened over top of them. My mind went hazy, and I was certain I was dizzy, even though I couldn't see anything, the room would definitely be spinning.

I could feel the substance that was injected into my bloodstream fighting to take over my mind. It seeped into my brain, shutting it off again, making me slip back into a void of nothingness.

Something roused me awake. I felt like I had been sleeping for forever, but I wasn't sure how long. Exhaustion haunted my sore body like I'd been cramped in the same position for far too long. There was a heat pressed against my body and I realized I was being carried somewhere.

My head bobbed with each step the person took, taking no caution with my vulnerable state.

I moaned, feeling even worse than I had before, the last time I'd awoken.

"Shhhh. A little while longer sleeping beauty." The gravelly voice cooed to me.

We stopped moving as he carried me, and I felt another pair of hands on me grabbing at the skin of the same thigh that was stabbed earlier. The stranger pulled my skin taught, shooting me up again with whatever poison was filling the syringe.

Everything calmed and lulled at my brain to go dark again. I tried so hard to fight the feeling, but the harder I resisted, the heavier my body felt and the more sluggish my thoughts became.

I began to fall asleep to the sound of crunching rocks under the man's boots.

 .......

Drip.

Drip.

Drip.

Drip.

The rhythmic sound of water droplets hitting the same spot repeatedly stirred me awake. Wherever I was, it was damp and cold. My bare feet barely touched the freezing floor that I hovered above, tied and suspended. My arms were above my head, stretching my shoulders painfully.
