Aura's Pov:

Lily and Hannah's eyes were both as wide as saucers, sharing the same nervous, anxiety filled realization of what I was asking of them.

The rest of the meal went quick and quiet. Both Hannah and Lily avoided the urge to make eye contact with me, afraid to draw any more suspicion to us than we already had. We couldn't verbally communicate it, but I could feel that we were all on the same page of understanding.

If we did not get out of this now, none of us would not make it out at all.

My thoughts were rudely interrupted when I felt the prickling sensation of eyes glowering at the back of my head.

I turned to see Ravenna tracking Casimir's gaze on me. Her cheeks were flushed from intoxication and jealousy. While Casimir looked at me, he lacked on providing her with the attention she craved from him.

That did not bode well for me. An angry, jealous female was the last thing I needed on my list of problems.

I cursed myself when I was caught staring too long. My eyes connected with Casimir's dark, hazy ones. It would seem that the alcohol he had been slamming back during the dinner was starting to affect him too.

He had the hint of amusement on his lips, but Ravenna was anything but amused by me. She looked pissed... Pissed that he was giving me the attention she should have been getting.

Nausea swirled in my belly. The only thing Casimir would be amused by me with, was if he was concocting a new way to play with his toys.

Ravenna reached for his chin, attempting to lean over his lap and bite onto his lower lip seductively, and I scrunched my nose, averting my gaze from the two of them as best as I could. As much as I didn't want to see their little love squabble, I couldn't allow myself to be blind-sided, so instead, I hid my gaze through my hair as I turned slightly facing away.

Her teasing must have done something for him, because he peeled his gaze from me and focused solely on her seduction.

Casimir stood from his perch, straightening his button-down silk shirt. He extended a hand to his witch, requesting her to accompany him, which she accepted feverishly.

I felt my shoulders relax slightly before realizing she had parted from Casimir to approach Kane and me.

Kane motioned for me to get up and he gripped me by my arm like I would try to run away.

A little much? It's not like I could get very far with all these brainless thugs around in here. I inwardly grumbled as I rolled my eyes.

Ravenna approached us with a deadly essence, keeping her eyes firmly narrowed on me. Even as she started to speak to Kane, her intense glare did not faulter from me.

"She's all yours to play with now Kane, so I suggest you claim her quick. Because if Casimir keeps looking at her that way, I will have to carve out her pretty little eyes, so he won't want to stare at her anymore. I'd hate to have to break your new toy before you even get a chance to play with it. Mkay?"

Chills ran through my body like knives. I could sense just how truthful she was being. She is really that psychotic, she would diffidently do it.

Kane gripped my arm even harder, pulling my closer to his side and I could feel my skin underneath his fingertips starting to bruise.

"Loud and clear." Kane said curtly.

Ravenna seemed to accept his response enough to back down from her attack dog stance and she turned, slapping me with the ends of her long black hair as she sauntered back to fondle over Casimir.
