Luz finished drawing the symbol on the wall at the end of the hallway, King keeping a lookout for Eda while she did it.
Amity had to do a puzzle for this, had to put all the pieces in the correct places. She liked that this game had several different elements. There was fighting, puzzles, parkour and dialogue options to customize the player's experience. It had been a long time since she had played a game this enjoyable.
Soon, it was time to get Eda's attention. They braced themselves as Luz yelled, "EDAAAAAAAAAA", and the Eda monster tore around the corner towards the two scared beings.
Luz smacked the wall; Amity had to button mash, and then jumped out of the way as Eda crashed into the wall and a blinding light flashed. The screeching slowly faded as the screen turned white.
"Jesus my heart is pounding-", Amity said with a sigh, laughing slightly.
There was a ringing sound, and muffled voices that slowly came into focus. The screen went from white to blurry and then crisp. The camera was pointing at Luz's worried face.
"My god why is she so fucking hot? Like unfair", Amity mumbled.
The camera cut to Eda, who had feathers growing out of her arms and a straw in her mouth. The straw was attached to a bottle filled with a golden elixir.
"Eda! Good you're awake!", Luz exclaimed.
"Ugh- yeah yeah-", Eda waved her off. Then she spotted the feathers and quickly downed the rest of the liquid, making the feathers disappear.
"Fuck- did it flare up again?", she asked sheepishly.
Luz's left eye twitched, "Again?! Eda why the FUCK did you not tell me and King you had a curse?! We could have DIED!"
Eda looked down in shame, "I'm sorry- I've been dealing with this most of my life and never had to worry about others getting hurt when it did flare up."
"Well now you do! You need to take care of yourself better dammit! Me and King care about you!!"
She sighed and pinched the bridge of her nose, "Eda, please please I'm begging you, be more honest with me and King about your health okay? We can't help you if we don't know what's going on."
Eda nodded, "You're right- I'm sorry kid. I uh- I do have one question though. How did you get me out of the owl beast state?"
Luz smiled softly and pulled a piece of paper out with the symbol on it and tapped it. The paper rolled up into itself before forming a small ball of light. Eda's eyes widened in surprise and then she smiled, proud of her apprentice. "Well I'll be damned kid, you're doing magic. Not in a way I've ever seen, but I suppose that's fitting for ya eh?"
The human laughed and nodded.
Then the scene faded to black and white text popped up on the screen.
"Huh? 'The next part of the game is under development, please be patient. We should have it up by December 30th! Thank you for playing and supporting this game.' Well shit, I can't wait for the next bit!", Amity smiled and clicked the main menu button, which took her to the starting page.
"Seriously whoever the creator or creators of this game are, you've created a game that has rich lore in it! I'm really looking forward to playing more of it. I hope the devs are watching me now to be honest because wow. I'm blown away!", Amity gushed.

"Yo! You got the coding done lil' sis?", a tall Latina said. She looked about in her early twenties. She had a baggy yellow hoodie on and sweatpants.
"You know it Luciá! I mean come on big sis, I'm on top of stuff!", the younger sister said with a smirk.
"Uhhh huhh, sure Luz. I know you've been distracted by Azura playing our game!", Luciá teased.
"Oh shut it", she mumbled, turning pink.
"She thinks you're oh so attractive Lucitaaaaa!", her older sister continued.
"More attractive than you!", Luz said with her tongue out.
"Fat chance."
"Yeah yeah whatever", she finished while chuckling.
"Mkay sooo, I booked our tickets to Game-A-Thon and the plane ride. Make sure you have bags packed by Tuesday mkay?", the eldest said.
Luz wrote down a reminder to put on her board and also put it in her phone. After years of dealing with her ADHD, she'd finally drilled it into her head to write stuff down in several locations as to not forget important stuff.
"I will!"
"Good", Luciá said while ruffling her sister's hair.
The younger Latina grumbled as the two walked out of their office to go grab lunch.

Amity hummed to her music as she packed her bag. Thankfully, she managed to get the twins to take care of her cat while she went to Game-A-Thon with Willow and her oldest sister Amelia. Amelia was a huge nerd for games, bigger than Amity if you could believe it. She worked at a game developer company and did the concept art for games.
She checked and double checked the time of her flight with Amelia for the next day, after she was packed. Ghost sniffed her bags by the door and gazed at his owner. Amity knew he knew that she was going somewhere without him so she made sure to shower him in love that night.
The next morning was a bit of a blur. Her siblings arrived at her apartment and helped load the car before saying farewell to the twins and Ghost.
"Well little sister, you excited for your booth this year?", Amelia said with a smile.
"Sure am! Now when am I gonna meet this mysterious girlfriend of yours hmm?", Amity said with a smirk.
"You'll meet her at Game-A-Thon actually. Luciá and her sister are coming. They'll be cosplaying like the nerds they are HA!", her older sister snorted.
"Well I can't wait to meet her!"
"Her sister is around your age, maybe you'll finally find yourself a girlfriend eh you useless lesbian?", Amelia said playfully.
"Oh shut up, you were a mess in highschool around girls!"
"Was not!"
"Oh really? Then care to explain why you said and I quote: 'oh wow sports' during PE and seeing your crush run around with a crop top on."
"Uhhh- no comment", Amelia muttered.
"Exactly."
The car ride consisted of the two sisters singing to songs at the top of their lungs while the music played loudly out of the speakers. It turned quite a bit of heads in cars around them.
Once they arrived at the airport, they quickly checked in and waited for their flight to be called. It didn't take long, and soon they had boarded the plane.
After a six hour flight, they arrived in California. The air was cool and smelled of rain. The sisters took a picture together with a backdrop of plants, of which Amity posted on her Penstagram to let her followers know that she was ready for Game-A-Thon.
"Let's get to the hotel yeah? Need plenty of rest for tomorrow!", Amelia said with a bright smile.
"Yep let's go!"
