The masculine scent of men's cologne floods my system, filling my stomach with explosive butterflies. An overwhelming sense of security eases me into conscious. Strong arms cage me to a muscular body of warmth. I hum, nestling my face into someones bare chest before fluttering my eyes open. Squinting through the sleep gunk, I catch a glimpse of Draken's chiseled jaw, his ink slightly concealed beneath his free blonde locks.
I inhale, as memories of last night flow through my mind. Our steamy kiss that I couldn't regret if I tried too.
I glance over him in thought, my body burning up suddenly and heartbeat sky-rocketing.
He's...shirtless.
I eyeball his washboard stomach, a pack of abs ripple right down to his sneaky v-line. I snap my head back up, already feeling giddy at the sight of him. His large biceps flex as he moves uncomfortably in his sleep.
His unexpected movement has made me hyper-aware of his touch, long fingers seeping into the flesh of my back. His touch concealed beneath my shirt. His minty breath dances over my skin with a feather-light touch. His chest presses firmly against my own, nerves stir in my chest as I try to carefully free myself from this position.
I wriggle in his arms, loosening his grip.
I gently lift his arm from around me, his cool finger pads tracing my torso in the process. Holding my breath I stare down at his calm face. A lazy smile adorning his features; he must be dreaming. Slowly I lay his arms softly by his sides, cautious not to wake him as I move for my escape. I roll to my feet, casting him a final glance before sprinting out of my room and down the hallway.
Once I find myself at a suitable distance, I slam my back against a wall and drag myself down it with a loud groan. I bury my head in my knees with an extensive sigh of relief. Being that close to Ken is not healthy for my heart.
The chime of the door bell causes my heart to jump fearfully, along with my entire body that lunges to its feet. I pounce at the front door swinging it open with much more force than intended. I stare wide eyed, my body surviving off of raw nervous energy right now. "H-hi," I squeak, at the tall woman.
"What's with the awkward energy? I saw your boyfriends bike out-front," she mentions, pushing past me and heading for the living room.
"He-he's not my- ugh, whatever!" I give up, following her to the couch. "What brings you here anyways?" I blow childishly, plopping down onto the seat beside her.
"You two are certainly progressing," she grins mischievously, making me raise a curious brow as she leads her finger from the couch to my bedroom. Indicating that the only other possible place for the male to sleep other than the spotless couch is my room. His gentle snores filter out from my bedroom only proving her right. "I hope you've been playing safely," she chimes, crossing one leg over the other.
I blink in confusion, before shaking the thought away.
"Why're you here?"
"I thought you would've been smart enough to drop him after the whole fiasco. You know a gang member is only going to lead you to further misfortune. I know how serious you are about having a stable fresh start, so why are you letting him stick around? I know you guys haven't done anything serious, so it can't be the size of his-" she pauses, with a chuckle. "Well, you know what I mean," she waves a hand in my gawking face.
"How would you know what I have and haven't done?" I try to defend, crossing my arms over my chest.
"Well, I know what you've been through in the past for one. And two, your hilarious expression at the mention of his you know what. Which if I had to say, is probably pretty big," she throws me a devilish grin.
