Chapter 2: Blank Space

As we arrived at the hotel where all the prospective tenants were staying, Jack informed me about the availability of open leases in our apartment building. "If you end up signing, I know our apartment building has some open leases," he said.

I thanked him for the information and was about to get out of the car when Luke stopped me. He offered to pick me up in the morning since he assumed I didn't have a car. "Let me get your number. I'm guessing you don't have a car so we can pick you up in the morning," he said as he handed me his phone.

Jack quickly added that they didn't have to do that, but I was more than happy to accept the offer. I added my number to Luke's phone and thanked them for the kind gesture before heading into my hotel room to freshen up.
