Broken and Feral

James opened his eyes, the light in the room hurting his retina. "What are you doing? What just happened to you?" Eve was standing naked in front of the bedroom door, blood covering her head to toe as she jumped into a pool, her eyes static, he couldn't tell if she was breathing. "Eve please talk to me." He rushed out of bed, grabbed his white robe with embellished letters in gold, and put it over her boiling skin, waiting for some answer from her mouth. Her eyes were dark as the bottom of a river that you would dare to swim. When their eyes met he was shaking with fear. A strange voice came from her mouth. "Hello James." and from Eve's mouth a fluid came out, staining the whole room red. Pieces of flesh mixed with blood and what looked like bones were decorating the white marble floor.

"James?" Eve was laying face down on the floor, he ran to put her in his arms, laying her beautiful face in his lap. "Darling, is that you?" he was holding her afraid that the demon would come back, he was close but not close enough. "James, why did you do it? Why did you lie to me? Why did you cheat?" tears were running down her cheeks, her voice was so quiet, almost like a breeze in the summer rain. "What are you talking about Eve? You left me." He didn't understand the girl, he thought that maybe she was ill again, he rested the back of his hand on her forehead to check if she had a fever, but she was colder than ever. "Eve, I tried to help you, you were sick. When I told you that I would put you in rehab you ran away. When I got home that day you were gone, you filled out divorce papers that I found at the piano. What was I supposed to do?" Looking into her eyes he could see the pain she was going through. "James I never did that, you cheated on me, I saw you with that girl, you read my diary, and you used all that against me, the bloody dress, the crosses through the walls" She was crying like a baby. "Honey, I never read your journal, you were insane. You don't remember anything?" she nodded confirming his fears. "I don't, I know that most of the day I was asleep, and when I was awake I fainted." "Darling, this is gonna shock you but I will show you something." He got up and disappeared into the office.
