A lifetime of hope; crushed in a single fell swoop.
A love meant to overcome all hurdles; now trampled by the threads of fate.
Three souls; each having endured more than a lifetime of sorrow to find each other. Now to be separated and forced to tread paths that would forever be untangled from the other threads woven of the same cloth.
How is one to fight an unseen force that wishes to rip them apart?
~
Three kind souls.
A woman having shed all reminders of a life she fought and won multiple battles in; to now start life upon a blank slate. A slate that would be bereft of the sorrow & pain inflicted on her by those closest to her in life, but also deprived of the love and safety she had experienced by her chosen family closest to her heart.
A child now to grow up without the mother she had dreamt of daily. To be separated from the unconditional love that her mother had wished to shower upon her daily.
A husband; now condemned to live life as an incomplete part of a whole. A whole that he had vowed his honor and life to take care of and cherish. Now that other part no longer recognizing its soul mate. His being a cursed fate that would forever be spent in wait. An eternal wait to find his family, just to have it torn apart again. Forever condemning him to the depths of his pain.
A family that was meant to last, tested by every battle - yet they clung to the love they held for each other. Perhaps this family was meant to forever be condemned by hardships? For such a love to exist amongst them was surely an affront to nature and for this crime they must continually pay the price for the pureness that shined within them. Forever crawling to find each other again and again after having been flung apart. Such was their tale.
A tale of endurance, sacrifice, passion and undying love.

A woman walked on a lone road. Her expression was that of confusion as she held her head with her tattered palms and fought back the wave of nausea and dizziness that gripped her. She looked about for signs of familiarity. Anything that would spark comfort. But everything seemed so strange and lonely. She felt an urge to call out for someone, a person she knew that would fix everything and make it all better. But currently, everything seemed to be a blur within her mind as the world spun out of control. Who was it that she was craving for from the very bottom of her being? A name teetered on the tip of her tongue, but as she would reach for it, it shied away from her and slipped away; along with her treasured memories that were slowly leaving her consciousness the further she walked upon this solitary path. A lifetime of memories obliterated by a single disease. A disease that had been eating away at her slowly over these past months, unbeknownst to her and those around her; until it was too late. Would she ever find herself again? Or would she be condemned to a life of confusion as she struggled to find who she was and tried to find her loved ones again?
An urge to find him overtook her. If only she could find a way back to that person who would make all this better. The one who would shed light upon the darkness she now found herself in and a deep darkness that was slowly consuming her as her memories started to slip away one by one at a terrifying pace.
The road took twists and turns as she struggled onwards - much like the life she had lived till the point he had entered her life. A road that had been dark and filled with sharp curves. A road she had walked all alone until he had come into her life to shed light and fill it with the warmth of his love. Anupama tripped on a rock and she gasped out in pain "Anuj!".
Even in the darkness of her now lost mind, his name was the first word she uttered whenever she was scared. If only she had been able to cling onto that name; but unfortunately the name was lost to the winds as she slipped away into the sweet dark of unconsciousness. Perhaps in this moment she could've found a path back to him without further delay. But alas, as all stories worth their salt, this tale too would take a turn that would tear her apart from the only salvation she had ever needed for her tired soul. The bitter truth dawned upon her in her last moments of consciousness; that all was lost.
~
In that very moment, those two souls felt the tearing of the threads of fate in their quilt of life they had sweetly etched in these past months of togetherness. A togetherness so coveted and one they had found quietly as they built their cherished "dream come true" of a family; a family they had so earnestly prayed for their entire lives.
They could feel that the heart of their little family was lost. As if in sync, the Father and daughter cried out in a silent wail of anguish as they felt her essence fading from their life. They could feel her fading fast and they struggled to capture it as they clung to each other in the home she had etched with her every essence. Every line in the house would now hold them captive till the end of time (or would it?) as they coped with the knowledge that she was to no longer be part of their lives.
A dream snatched away too early from them.
But fate was a tricky thing. And as quickly as it took; it also granted in the same breath. For these paths may have presented an illusion of separation, but their threads were so strong that even fate would eventually bow to them and weave them in a pattern of togetherness stronger than before. For what was once lost, will find each other again, over and over again.
