She was in my arms when we walked into the dark

Close to me

Hands together

We walked as the noises went on

Eyes closed, hoping we'd make it through

The lady at our side walked on her own

Not afraid of the dark like we were

We stepped out into the light at the end

And I smiled as I no longer was in fear

"We made it" I said and I looked at my side

Only to find, that child was gone

My heart aches as I panic

I screamed for her

I screamed her name and turned all around

"The Bridge takes its toll."

The lady at his side said

"We have to go back!"

I'd say in fear, I couldn't lose her, not after everything that's happened

After all the words we shared

We were friends

And now she is gone

No longer in my arms

Her sweet voice gone

Lost to the dark she feared

But the lady beside me

Said to move on

So with a heavy heart I set on

I'll miss her so

Remembering her as the 'Rat Girl' I once knew
