Forgotten and forgiven

As you settle into bed you hear someone coming in through the window.

You grab your lamp as a weapon as you slowly make your way to the door.

You open the door as you lift the lamp over your head "MIGUEL?!?! JESUS CHRIST DO YOU KNOW HOW FUCKING SCARED I WAS?!?!"

"I know... I should've called but I know you wouldn't have let me in"

"YOU'RE DAMN RIGHT I WOULDN'T'VE!!!!"

"I'm sorry, but I had to see you. I don't want you to go to sleep angry again."

"Well! I'm angrier now!"

"Please, I brought coffee and donuts."

You sigh and motion to him to go into your room. You put the lamp back your night stand.

"Tell me why I should forgive you..." you sit down.

"You shouldn't have to if you don't want to, but I like you too much... I don't want to lose you. I'll do anything to make you forgive me... we don't even have to be together, I just want my friend back." He hands you the cup of coffee. "I don't drink coffee..."

"You were earlier." You freeze for a second. "Yes... well... I was trying to stay up."

You both sit there awkwardly. "Well, that's fine. It's not as good as your coffee." More silence.

"I'm so sorry for leaving you with a big hole in your wall."

"Yeah well... cardboard is keeping the bugs out."

"Y/n, you should stay with me. Until it fixes up."

"No need, my landlord told me I could have the apartment downstairs. 3 months free."

"Oh... I guess that's why there are so many boxes."

"Can you take off your mask?"

He nods and turns it off, It stays quiet. You really don't want to stay mad at him even if he did hurt you, you just decided to forget about it and forgive him.

"Miguel... I forgive you." He looks at you surprised. "You do?"

You nod as you both stay silent and look away from each other.

It feels like there is a string tied to your throat making the tension very thick.
