Chapter 57 Happiness at last

The wedding is here, I sit in a seat in front of the mirror as Rose and Alice flutter around me doing my makeup and hair, Bella and Ness both are setting my dress out so I can step in, and prepping my shoes. Kat, Caitlin, Eliza, and Felicity all stand in their bridesmaids dresses.

"You look beautiful Clara." Eliza spoke up, smiling at me as they all made their way over to the huge picture mirror and began doing their makeup. I nervously smiled, and as soon as Alice and Rose stopped fluttering and fussing about, I stood and walked over to the dress, smoothing the silk slip I wore before stepping into the shoes. And losing my arms out as Bella and Ness begin to help pull my dress up around me. Soon I was in the beautiful dress swirling around and admiring it as it flow. Grabbing the accessories I put each on, and then slowly slid the old ring on, and when Nes saw it she paused and looked at me with sparking eyes. Rushing forward she wrapped her arms around me and smiled. "No matter what you will always be a daughter in law to me Clara." She whispered, before backing away and fixing her makeup.

"Thank you." I said, and just then Rose appeared, placing the veil over my head and smiling. Emmett stepped up next to her and held out his arm, guiding me down to the isle. Standing there I let my drift around, the wedding march keying up to start.

"Breath C." Emmett said, squeezing my arm. "Your heart is like a jack hammer." He froze, listening to something someone was saying, then laughing. "Garrett says he can hear your heart from the front row, and he has been able to since you where getting ready."

I laughed uneasily as the march began, and the walk down the ridiculous isle began. "Don't let me fall daddy." I whispered as I felt my ankles tremor and turn.

"I will never let you fall Clara." He reassuringly squeezed my hand. When he handed me off I smiled a little, and looked to Harry.

Eventually the vows came and I felt tears jerking to my eyes as Harry began his. "Clara, I promise I will love and cherish you till the end of our eternities, our love acting like a fine wine- becoming stronger and more beautiful with age. I will respect you and all your hair brain and crazy ideas, I will believe you, you and all your mysteries, I will forgive you, no matter what happens. I will help you, even if it's to hide a body, I will help you." I couldn't help but laugh at the point, remembering in 8th grade when Jimmy Fallon the 12th did the mean thing and I was ready to just kill him, when Harry heard me muttering about it from across the room, he sent me a text that said "I'll help you hide the body."

My turn came, and now I was in complete tears, and trying to calm down. "Harry." I wiped the tears from my eyes, my hands shaking as I used him as an anchor. "You are my rock, while everything seemed so hazy and confusing, I know you where my clarity." I laced my fingers in his and smiled. "I love you to the ends of the earth, past the moon and to the stars. I promise you that I will stay by your side, loyal to the infinite future, caring, understanding, not throttling you because you say something stupid." The joke made me laugh a little as he reached up and wiped the tears from my cheeks gently. "I will gladly follow you into the fire, even if it means the end for both of us, I would do it for you."

The pastor- who looked like your stereotypical preached- raised his arms. "I how pronounce you man and wife. You may kiss the bride!" Harry grabbed me hilariously and dipped me, kissing me and making the whole crowd cheer and clap.

The reception started soon after, and as we danced slowly to the first dance- an extremely old classic that Harry liked called "thinking out loud-" Harry whispered in my ear. "Misses Clara Swan." He kissed the skin next to my ear, making me shiver as he chuckled and he hugged me close. "You looked exquisitely ravishing." he mumbled.

"I love it when you talk 2000s to me." I joked and laughed as he spun me, making my dress twirl out around me. Soon the entire wedding party was dancing, when another song stopped, I grabbed Harry's hand and we ran up to the DJ and grabbed the microphone. "Excuse me!" I called over the chatter, and all eyes turned to me, nobody except Harry knew what was going on, and he slipped the DJ a chip with the song stored on it. "This next song is dedicated not just to my parents, but my whole family, the people who raised me and took care of me, the people who I could count on through all that crazy weird phase of my life. We know it got a little out of hand." A laugh drifted through those who knew exactly what I was talking about. "This is for you, The Cullen's, the Denali's, even the Jacksons- who graciously accepted me into their family. This goes to the Mellows- wherever you are," small tears budded in my eyes as before me the image of my foster father flickered forth, he had a small smile on his face and tears in his eyes. He was happy for me. I looked down to the old engagement ring that Cody gave me, and as I glanced up to my foster father again, I saw Cody flicker in next to him, his expression matching my foster father's. "This also goes to Cody Black. A man who would risk his life to save mine." The tears began to roll. "This song is from the 1920's, honoring the old but amazing style of my family. Old souls, kind hearts, new memories." And with that the track began to roll as the DJ shoved the small chip into his audio mixing kit.

Then instantly all their faces lit up and they began to dance with such grace it was amazing. "It's called the Charleston." Edward had once told me as he and Bella taught me how to do the dance. Harry and I made our way down, and I began to do the dance, Harry holding my hand and laughing as he followed along seamlessly.

When the song ended, Harry left me to go grab the chip, and I turned to see a familiar face, and not one of a loved one passed. "Kale?" I asked as I walked over to him. A smile flickered on his face.

"Your beautiful baby sis." He said, holding out a horribly wrapped box. "I overheard mom and dad talking about your wedding- I didn't even know you knew bout us again." He looked ashamed. "I'm so sorry, I fought to have you kept with us- but they refused."

I shook my head as I took the gift into my hands. "No, it's not your fault." I said, realizing I was craning my neck to look at him now. "Your taller."

"I'm 23, or at least that's when I stopped aging." He explained. "After the Cody accident, I stopped changing and grew up a little. I finished high school, then went to college. I just got back a month ago." He smiled at me softly. "Your even more beautiful now than before. How is that possible?"

"No neglect from childhood horrors?" I attempted a lame joke, realizing it was just a little to true.

"You should get back to your wedding. I think your husband is waiting for you." He said, moving forward and hugging me.

"This isn't a goodbye- is it?" I asked, the tears rolling again.

"I hope not." When he looked in my eyes I saw tears forming in his. "No matter what- you're always going to be my little sister." He said, his voice crackling. Then he was gone, and I was leaning against Harry a moment later as I opened the gift. It was a wolf pendant- one with three wolves looking straight at me. One looked like Jake's wolf, another looked like Kale's, and the last one looked like Cody's.

Soon the reception was over, and Harry and I where getting birdseed thrown at us as we walked to the limo.

Our forever bringing here.
