The Impala: The 1967 Chevy Impala is the only home Dean, Sam, and Lex have ever really known, so it makes sense the siblings have every weapon they might ever need in the trunk. As the Winchesters traverse hunting monsters, the Impala is their constant companion. Since a surprising amount of equipment is needed to gank baddies, they've also turned it into a mobile arsenal. Whether it's the famed Colt or a run-of-the-mill shotgun, the trunk is always packed to the brim with whatever they might need.

Survival Supplies: In the Impala, the trunk has a false bottom where weapons are stored. It's not a foolproof system, but it is lifesaving. The siblings are often in need of a specialized weapon to kill whatever monster they're facing so when an unexpected threat appears, it's usually a short run to the car to fetch whatever they need. They keep every weapon they have in the car's false bottom to avoid them getting stolen when they need it. In the apocalypse, the siblings now keep a crowbar, three gas cans, and emergency supplies on top of the false bottom so that it doesn't look like they have nothing if someone opens the trunk. In addition, the siblings keep emergency food, water, and medical supplies in the trunk. They also have more utilitarian items like a few spare tires, a toolbox, silverware sets, first-aid kits, a sledgehammer, and emergency flares. They have lighters, matchboxes, shovels, candles and spray paint for spells and sigils. Ropes, chains, lock picks, and duct tape rolls all come in handy.

Hunting Tools: Apocalypse kit would be complete without the hunter's basic tools. These are weapons that are used to fight run-of-the-mill monsters, a task the Winchesters might approach a little too casually after so many years of practice. EMF meters to read paranormal activity appeared frequently during early seasons, as did rosaries for blessing holy water (also available in gallons in the trunk), anti-possession necklaces to ward off demons, and salt for pretty much everything. The Impala's trunk also contains curse boxes to hold cursed objects, modified tasers for taking down rawheads, flamethrowers to deal with changelings and flare guns for wendigos. Some weapons for higher-level monsters take up residence in the trunk eventually — in season 8, the brothers discover a pair of supernatural handcuffs that can contain demons and angels from the Men of Letters bunker. Later, Dean creates a pair of glasses that can be used to spot hellhounds. Jars of dead man's blood, holy oil and Borax are necessary for fighting vampires, angels and Leviathans, respectively. They have wooden and silver stakes, dreamcatchers and crucifixes. Dean insisted on keeping his crossbow and silver-tipped arrows. The most important hunting tools in the trunk, however, are probably the books. John Winchester and Bobby Singer's journals are valuable sources of hunting lore, while Rowena's journal and spell books help Sam master several spells.

Blades: No hunting trip would be complete without a few sharp, shiny objects used to slice and dice monsters. Among the blades in the Impala are axes, pocket knives, and machetes. Iron knives are effective against a long list of creatures. Silver is similarly powerful, wounding monsters. Gold daggers through not having as many uses are still in the truck for they never know when they'll come across them again. The more unique blades include the one Dean used in Purgatory, made from bones, and angel blades. Lex's main blade is her Honshu Karambit knife or an angel blade.

Guns And Ammo: The firearm Dean is most often seen with is his Colt M1911A1, a .45 caliber handgun used by the U.S. military in the early 1900s. Sam is primarily seen using the Taurus Model 99, a 9mm pistol similar to the Beretta with his secondary being a Heckler & Koch Mark 23 Model 0, a .45 caliber handgun built specifically for use by U.S. special forces. Lex mainly uses a 10mm Auto Colt Delta Elite used by Sheriffs and Law Enforcement in the U.S. Revolvers, shotguns and rifles are also in the trunk. The siblings store a variety of ammunition in the Impala's trunk including rock salt shells, specialized bullets, iron, silver, and dead man's blood bullets, as well as bullets capable of killing witches and etched with devil's traps to contain demons.
