-LOVE IS LOVE-
The instrumental of the music filled the room as everyone danced. Olivia has still been replaying the events between she and Alexander. She felt foolish to throw herself at him like that.
"Not here." He had said. In truth, she did want it to be there. To feel his skin against hers in the ways she had been thinking of. It was unfortunate that she was under a royal roof upon royal grounds.
They changed hands, and as Alexander stared down at Olivia, Olivia kept her eyes shifting at the people dancing with them.
Alexander noticed her change in demeanor and regretted having led her on at a time like this. He barely knows her past, barely knows what she would want in a man, and already, he's batting eyes at her.
He spun Olivia around, pulling her back into him. "I'm sorry." He whispers to her. Still, he kept his eyes on her, gazing at her neck. She smells good. He wants to kiss her again.
"Olivia
She couldn't take it anymore, she wanted to leave. To get away from him entirely. Olivia pulled away, but Alexander caught her by the wrist.
"Olivia, don't. You're right at the finish line."
She shook her head, tugging her arm and forcing back the tears that fell.
"Olivia, please."
"Let me go, Alex, I want to go home." She begs past her sadness.
"Olivia-
"I said let me go!" She slapped him. Alexander's head whipped to the left of him, and the music stopped. Everyone that had been dancing gazed upon the scene, whispering to themselves.
Olivia couldn't believe she did what she did. "Sorry." She ran off, pushing past people to get out of the ballroom. Alexander just stood there in devastation.
His hand dropped to his side, and he just stood there. Meanwhile, the Duke and his wife had been observing everyone on the floor, having seen it all.
"Oh dear." She says.
Your Grace chuckled a bit. "He reminds me of myself. Remember when you did the exact same thing because you didn't want to marry me?" He asks his wife.
She smiles, remembering it all. She was nervous, sure she found her husband a fit man to marry, but she felt a bit rushed into it.
"Yes, I remember."
"Should we talk to them?"
She looked up at him.
"You know what, I think we shall. I'll talk to her. Have the ball continue until we return."
"Surely."
Alexander shifted through the crowd of people as the music resumed. "Resume!" Someone shouted. Alexander didn't care about who it was. He just needed time to himself.
He made it to the entrance hall and exhaled. Should he leave? If so, he might bump into her. He doesn't want to leave, though. This is Olivia's time to shine, and he ruined it.
"Young man."
Alexander turned around, gazing at the man that stepped foot into his view. Alexander immediately greeted the man.
"Your Grace."
He chortled. "Please, call me Alec." Even though he suggested Alexander did otherwise.
