Part 1:Arriving in California

"Daniel, Y/n, wake up!" ma calls out for you.

"Look off the starboard bow." she laughs. 

"Paradise at last" she said as she park the car.

"Oh, we made it!" you groan from beside her moving slightly and lay your head on Daniel shoulder.

"come on, y/n we finally arrived" she pat you thigh.

You opened your eyes and sigh tiredly.

"Come on, this is it." she got out of the car.
"This is the end of the line"

"You're telling me" Daniel said annoyed.

"Do you think this place is better than New Jersey, Daniel?" you asked him.

"I don't know, now come on,your head is heavy" he pushes your head and got out of the car.

"Ow! fuck you daniel!" you rub your head.

"Come on. All hands on deck" Your mother said as she takes out bags out of the car.

You follows him out and took your bags.

Daniel untie his bike from the car roof.

"We've got to get this thing unloaded before it sinks" your mother groan carrying loads of bags.

She put down the bags for a second and look up. "Look at those palm trees"

"Damn, do you know what that means?" your mother ask you and daniel.

"Yeah, watch out for falling coconuts." you both reply in sync.

"No more Newark winter" she goes back to the back of the car.

"but, we like winter" you said as you help Daniel with his bike.

"Oh, You like sore throat? You like frozen toes"

"I don't like the smog" Daniel said.

"Did I tell you about the pool here?" She asked as she carries a box.

"About 100 times" you pulled on the rope on his bike.

"Okay, so make it 101. Open your eyes my darling children. This is the Garden of Eden" she walks towards the entrance while holding the box.

"Come on, Listen we're in apartment 20 okay?" she said as she goes through the door.

"Damn it Daniel, why do you have to tie it so tight" you grunts.

"Hey! it's not my fault you're weak" he laughs.

You carries your bags and waited for Daniel.

You both walk towards the entrance before Daniel pushed you to the side slightly.

"Watch this, sis" he kicks down the door and accidentally hit someone.

"wow, first day in California and you already causing a problem. Great job Daniel!" you said sarcastically clapping your hands.

"Shut up, Y/n!"

"Are you okay?" he helps the guy up.

"yeah, don't worry about it!"

"So, you must be the new people in 20 right?" he asked as he rub his forehead.

"yeah, I guess so." Daniel replies.

"Freddy Fernandez apartment 17" he holds up his hand and shakes both of you guys hands.

"Daniel Larusso and this is my little sister Y/n Larusso."

"Nice to meet you,Freddy" you shake his hand.

"Oh! let me help you" he offered.

"No no,no,don't worry about it. It's fine." he decline.

Freddy ended up helping carry your bags.

"Where are you guys from?" Freddy ask.

"New Jersey" you both reply.

"What are you doing out here?"

"Our mom got a job with some company out here. Rocket computers" you said.

"Flight of the Future. I don't know." Daniel shrugs.

"Never heard of it"

"It's up and coming" they walk through a gate.

You and Daniel look at the pool which only has dirty water and a toy duck.

"Is this the only pool you've got?" Daniel ask still looking at the pool.

"This is it. What was that, karate?" he nudge Daniel.

"Yeah"

"Have you been doing it long?"

"yeah, a while"

"Did you ever use it?" he walks backwards interested.

"a couple of times"

You just walked behind them ignoring their conversation.

"I bet you could kick some ass."

you snort knowing Daniel can't do shit.

Daniel gives you a glare and hits your arm slightly.

"I'd like to learn that maybe you could teach me"

"Sure, that's cool. Anytime"

You end up leaving them and goes to you guys apartment.

"don't say anything about the pool. I'll call first thing in the morning." she said as she saw you at the door.

"I didn't say anything " you shrug smiling.

Daniel came in and passes your bag.

"Did you tell that old lady where we were from?" Daniel asked.

"Yes, didn't she remind you of Aunt Tessy?"

"More like Uncle Louie" he goes to the sink.

"I really think we're gonna do great here Daniel, Y/n"

You laugh loudly when Daniel gets spray by the faucet.

"The faucet's broken"

You go to your new room and put down your bags and lay down on the bed.

Before you can close your eyes, you hear a knock.

"what?" you ask facing Daniel.

"We got invited to the beach tomorrow. You wanna go?"

"sure, now get out" you throw a pillow at him.

"jeez woman" he threw back the pillow and ran to his own room.

You close your eyes and went to sleep.
