Authors POV

Jung-su was getting ready for his duty while Sohee was cooking breakfast for them in the kitchen. As he was fixing his shirt, he heard small steps approaching him. He turned around to see Jungkook running towards him wrapped in a towel.

"Appa, where is my school uniform? You said you would keep it in my bed after pressing it," asked Jungkook, who was only seven years old.

Jung-Su's eyes widened as he realized that he had forgotten to keep Jungkook's uniform in his bed. He ran inside the laundry room to find that Jungkook's uniform had a big hole caused by the iron box which he had left to lift after pressing the shirt.

Jungkook opened his mouth to call Sohee, but Jung-su closed it using his palm and lifted him, running to Jungkook's room. Jungkook wiggled in his grip, but Jung-su ran on his toes, afraid of getting caught by Sohee. Once they reached Jungkook's room, he put him down and closed the door. He knelt in front of Jungkook, who was looking at him with a smirk.

Jung-su sighed in defeat. "I'll buy you anything, but don't tell your mom. You have another spare uniform, right? Wear it. I'll fix that one with a new one."

"Promise you'll buy me anything?" Jungkook asked, raising his eyebrows at his father.

"I promise," replied Jung-su.

"Then deal," Jungkook smiled at his father, showing his bunny teeth.

They both turned to their right when they heard someone clearing their throat. Sohee was standing near the dressing table, looking at them with her red eyes. The duo looked at her with an innocent smile, trying to act like nothing had happened.

"What happened?" Sohee asked Jung-su.

"Nothing darling, we were just talking," he tried to calm her.

But she looked at Jungkook, raising her eyebrow at him. The little boy got scared under his mom's glare and pushed his dad under the bus to save himself.

"Momma, appa burned my uniform, and he was asking me not to tell you about this," Jungkook said, trying to look innocent.

Sohee looked at Jung-su, whose face was painted with fear. Seeing Sohee's blank face, he swore he would pee in his pants under her gaze.

"Jungkook-ah, go and wear your uniform; it's already time for your school," said Sohee to Jungkook, still looking at Jung-su, whose leg was still shaking.

"Ok, Momma," the little boy escaped from the scene.

"I don't know what I'm going to do with you, Jung-su. I'm not going to tell you about any work afterward; I will do everything by myself because you only double up my work," she said and walked out of the room.

Jung-su followed her. "Baby, I'm sorry. I forgot. I got an important call from work; that's why. I'm sorry, Sohee."

Sohee turned to Jung-su, who was trying his best to look innocent.

"Go and get him ready and come to breakfast. It's already time," she said and left for the kitchen.

Jung-su pouted his lips and went to Jungkook's room. They both went down to the kitchen, had their breakfast, and left for work. Jung-su dropped Jungkook at his school on his way.

Jung-su arrived at his police station. He entered the station while every officer wished him. He nodded his head at them and entered his cabin. He sat on his chair and picked up the file which was before him on the table. He went through the pages and called 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐧 𝐑𝐨𝐲 to come inside the cabin.

"Martin!" he shouted his name. Martin came inside running.

"Yes, Sir," Martin bowed at him.

"Where is the file case about the 𝐓𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐎𝐫𝐩𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐠𝐞?" he asked.

"Here it is, Sir," Martin said, giving the file that he was carrying.

Jung-su flipped through the pages of the case. This case was troublesome for him. He didn't know what happened, but in the case file, it was written that the children and elders who were staying there did illegal business for the mafia groups.

Of course, Jung-su didn't believe it. Heck, the whole of South Korea knew that Trinity Orphanage was not a place like that. It was not only a home for children but also an old age home for elders. Children, teen boys and girls, men, women, senior citizens, for everyone, it was heaven for them. People were kind and lovely there. Innocent children got their new parents, and elders who were abandoned by their families got lovely children. There was no way that crimes were happening there. But there was pressure from higher officials to take this case seriously. So the whole police station is working in that case day and night. There is also this complaint that new intruders are coming to the orphanage asking them to leave the place soon.

This case is mysterious to him. No clues are found, no idea who those intruders are, who gave this complaint, and which mafia group is behind it. No Idea.

But he knows there is something big that is behind this issue and he needs to solve it soon.

Someone is using them for his benefit without realizing they are innocent people.

The whole media is talking ill about the police saying they can't find who the culprit is.

Before something happens he needs to end it soon, for the well-being of everyone.

He just doesn't have a good feeling about this.

"Let's go to the orphanage, Martin." He said to Martin and both of them walked out of the cabin.
