Inko Midoriya gets a new job in San Francisco, taking Izuku with her. What will happen to the wannabe hero in a new setting? Will he make new friends? (yes) Will he become a bad bitch? (no) Will he be in over his head in an attempt to take down a da...
A piece of news that came as a shock to Izuku was the fact that Oceanside High, a school for heroics almost as prestigious as UA, had no uniform. Not even a cohesive dress code was found on the school's website. That meant anything goes. Unfortunately, all Izuku cared to wear were jeans and a t-shirt. Maybe a denim jacket to spice it up a bit if he was feeling like it. And since Inko had to leave early for work, he'd be taking the school bus.
The bus was hot and noisy, to say the least. The seats were sticky, courtesy of the late March weather. There was a clique of elementary schoolers who seemed to be playing Dungeons and Dragons without dice or any set plot... very loudly. Even through his headphones, he could hear a scream of "I KILL THE DRAGON BY HADOUKENING IT INTO THE FREAKIN' SUN!!" "NO, THAT'S NOT HOW YOU PLAY THE GAME!!" It was somewhat amusing, hearing kids' imaginations in real-time. Still, he had to get off the bus before them, so the ending of their game was left up to his own less fervid teenage imagination.
His first stop was the principal's office. There, he'd meet the student ambassador that'd be showing him around. He knocked at the door and waited patiently for someone to answer. After a couple seconds of waiting, an older woman with hair like lava opened the door. Being a superfan of heroes across the globe, Izuku instantly recognized her as the retired Volcanic Hero, Caldera.
"You must be our new student, Izuku Midoriya, from UA High School," she said, a midwestern twang accentuating a few of her words. "You can call me Mrs. Brant. I'm the principal here at Oceanside. And this is your student ambassador."
Sitting in a chair in the office was another student who appeared to be about his age. She had an owlish face. Literally, her face was identical to that of your average barn owl. She also had a pair of large flaxen wings on her back, not being used at the moment. Other than that, she looked like the average high school girl, wearing a sky blue knit cardigan and a plaid skirt to match. If Oceanside had a dress code, she was following it to a T. She stood up and extended her hand for Izuku to shake.
"Heya! My name's Athena Fullerton. And you must be the famous Izuku Midoriya, I take it?" she said, smiling with her voice.
"Miss Fullerton will be guiding you through a tour of our beautiful school. She'll also be in your advisory for the rest of your time here," Mrs. Brant grinned, handing Izuku a stack of papers. "This is your weekly schedule. It includes your classes and which advisory you'll be in."
"Thank you, Mrs. Brant." Athena led Izuku out of the office with pep in her step. "Let the tour begin!"
With that, Athena showed Izuku everything there was to see at Oceanside. The gymnasium, which doubled as a sparring room for heroes-in-training. The library, where students could read and hang out with friends. The classrooms, where Izuku would be taking his classes from now on. The cafeteria, where breakfast, lunch, and occasionally dinner, if kids were staying late, would be served to the students. In the meantime, Izuku was writing everything down in one of his many, many journals. After a tour of all three stories, the school grounds, and the nearby beach, Athena handed him the sheet of paper with his advisory and schedule on it.
"If you have any questions, feel free to ask. I can answer... almost anything."
