By Sunday, all of Izuku and Inko's belongings were packed and already on a boat to California. The stuff they could fit in suitcases and carry-ons had been packed up and ready to go. The flight had been booked days ago and their passports were renewed. Inko's planning was immaculate. Everything had been estimated to near perfection. Even after Izuku told her that his friends would be seeing them off, their timing would be perfect. And speaking of his friends...

"Hey, Deku! We all pitched in and made you something!"

Uraraka was waving frantically in his direction, desperately trying to get his attention. Everyone else was behind her, with Iida carrying a good-sized package adorned with stickers, signatures, and well wishes.

"What's in it?" Izuku asked.

"It's a secret. Don't open it until you get to the States," Kaminari grinned with a sly wink.

Inko walked over and looked over the box. "Aww, a care package! How sweet! And I love the little All Might stickers."

"We stole 'em from Bakugo." Kirishima gestured to the disgruntled blond in question.

"Dammit, Shitty Hair, they're not mine!" he shouted.

"Don't worry, Bakugo, your secret's safe with us," Kaminari said with another wink.

"It's pretty bulky," Izuku noted.

Ashido rubbed the back of her neck sheepishly. "Yeah, we packed a lot in there."

"A little something from each of us," Tokoyami said.

"I mean... I'm probably gonna have to wait 9 or so hours to open it. Maybe longer," Izuku said.

"Damn, that long?" Sero asked, his eyes wide with shock. "And plus, the time zone's probably later, so..."

"I did the math," Inko chimed in. "We'll probably get in at around... 6, if the flight actually takes that long."

"At least we'll all still be awake by then."

"I'm not quite finished. With the time zone, it'll be around..." Inko pulled out her phone and searched something up. "...Midnight."

"MIDNIGHT??" everyone shouted.

"An entire day wasted on an airplane. That sucks, man," Kirishima said.

"I mean, I've got a bunch of movies. And I can always just sleep if it gets boring," Izuku smiled. In reality, he was dreading sitting down for more than 9 hours. Man, I'm gonna be so sore after this.

"Well, I guess this is it, Midoriya," Iida said, handing Izuku the package. "Have a good time in America."

"We'll miss you so much!!" Uraraka wailed, tackling Izuku in a tearful hug.

"Group hug!" Kaminari shouted. At that, the entire class enveloped Izuku in one last hug goodbye. When they let go, Izuku was leaking tears from his eyes. Even he didn't know whether they were happy or sad tears.

"I-It's gonna be tough without you guys," he stuttered. "I'll keep in touch!"

"You'd better, man," Kirishima grinned, also teary-eyed.

"Izuku, we have to go."

Izuku nodded to his mom. "I gotta go. We still have to check our luggage and your care package."

"So soon?" Iida asked.

"You know Mom. Punctuality and all."

"And we need to get some real breakfast," Inko smiled. "We can get omelets!"

"That too."

"Well," Kaminari firmly shook Izuku's  hand. "you'd better tell us all about it, buddy."

"I will," Izuku said, wiping a tear from his eye. "I promise!"

He walked off towards the baggage check station, with all of his friends calling out various sentiments. Among the heard words were,

"Bon voyage!"

"Send us photos of the Golden Gate Bridge!"

"You'd better message us!"

After checking their bags and going through security, the Midoriyas got some breakfast omelets and arrived at their gate, almost a half-hour ahead of schedule. Matcha, Izuku's beloved moss ball, sat in its baggie, also seemingly awaiting their imminent travel with excitement and trepidation.

Once on the plane, Izuku put on his headphones and looked back at the Haneda Airport for what would hopefully not be the last time. He gave a wistful smile to no one in particular.

Goodbye, Japan. I hope to see you soon.

a/n: i'm aware this was all just one long goodbye, but hardly any of these fics do that (even if 1-A isn't sucky towards izuku in the beginning), he just leaves with hardly any warning or goodbye to anyone except the teachers.
also, i gave izuku a pet marimo! as for what a marimo is, it's a moss ball! they're pretty popular low-maintenance pets in japan (kinda like a pet rock but with a tiny bit more care put in).
